We’re beyond excited to announce our newest offering at Yoga Union. Mat Pilates classes start in May. ✨

Mat Pilates is your best friend if you want to strengthen your core and tone your body and level up your mind-body connection. This class focuses on core strength, flexibility, and posture through controlled movements with the help of various props. 💪🏼💫

It’s a great addition to our existing Yoga and Myo-Yin classes, offering a well-rounded approach to fitness and wellness.

While Yoga focuses on flexibility and relaxation, and myofascial release targets muscle tension and fascial restrictions, Mat Pilates focuses on strengthening and toning muscles, enhancing core stability, and promoting better alignment.

In our Yin + Nidra sessions, we gently explore the powerful effects of reduced cortisol levels, inviting a cascade of benefits into your life: ~ Emotional Release ~ Improved Sleep Quality ~ Enhanced Mindfulness ~ Parasympathetic Activation Switch off ‘fight or flight’ and welcome ‘rest and digest’.

Join us over three weeks of Crafty Christmas Sessions and make this holiday season both crafty and conscious! Celebrate the joy of giving while embracing a more sustainable, mindful, and holistic approach to the festivities. Explore the link between creativity, mindfulness, and well-being in a festive setting that nourishes both your crafty spirit and your soul.

This is a festive and eco-friendly series designed to infuse the holiday season with creativity, sustainability, and a touch of mindfulness. Held over three Saturdays in the lead up to Christmas, this series invites participants to explore the joy of crafting while embracing environmentally conscious practices that also benefit the mind and body.
Session 1 (2 December 2023): Sustainable Gift Wrapping
Kick off the holiday season with some fabulous and clever ideas for wrapping your gifts with love and the planet in mind. We’ll explore creative and eco-friendly ways to wrap your presents, from reusable fabric wraps to personalized handmade gift boxes. Make your gift-giving as memorable as the presents themselves.

Session 2 (9 December 2023): Wreaths and Garlands
Take time out to create an authentic and beautiful Christmas Wreath or Garland to adorn your home with in our wreath making session. Learn to weave together natural elements and recycled materials to create beautiful, personalized decorations that will add a touch of festive charm to your space.

Session 3 (16 December 2023): Christmas Candlemaking
Immerse yourself in the warm glow of the holiday season by crafting your own soy candle, or make it to gift to someone special. Discover the art of candle making using sustainable materials and festive scents, and take home your handmade candles to illuminate your home with the spirit of the holidays.

Sign up for one session ($65), or come along to all three ($180). The aim is to connect, take time out from the craziness and enjoy creating something fun! Kit included, and enjoy a glass of bubbly or kombucha with light snacks provided by us.

Life’s not always sunshine and roses. It’s important we tend to the mind as a practice of resilience. You don’t need to live in a fantasy world of false positivity, but it’s important to give your mind a little R&R every now and again.

Here are a few easy and free ways to increase your exposure to joy: seek out good news, supportive people and do things that lift your mood.

🪷Soften your expression. Squish all the muscles in your face as though you’ve eaten a piece of lemon, then relax. Now open your mouth as wide as you can. Stick out your tongue and wag it around. Gaze upwards. Relax.

🪷Take a Belly Breath. Close your eyes and bring awareness to your belly. Draw breath in from this place, allowing the diaphragm to expand and the belly to inflate like a balloon. Exhale slowly, smoothly and for as long as you can manage.

🪷Walk outside with no sunnies on. Aim for 20 - 30 minutes to allow the mind to clear and creativity to surface!

🪷Play a feel-good song from your past. Blast it through the speakers, or pick up your guitar!

🪷Create something that’s easy and effortless. An old favourite recipe, a sketch, or just some easy doodling with a pen can get you out of your head and into the beautiful present moment!
