Established in 2018.

With a combined 35 years of training clients, founders Sam, Kyle and Rhys created Functional AF so that so motivated individuals can achieve their health and fitness goals through our 3 Fundamentals being Lifestyle, Nutrition and Training. Everyone who joins the team will be delivered a professional level of service and become part of a strong and powerful community dedicated to having all achieve their goals. FAF is losing another client — and we couldn’t be happier.

Our superstar Tehya has just been officially sworn into the Australian Defence Force, heading off to recruit training to start her dream role in the Air Force.

Over the past year, Tehya’s shown exactly what discipline and drive can do — she’s the strongest, fittest and most focused she’s ever been and she’s used that transformation to launch into a career she’s been working relentlessly toward.

We’re beyond proud and honestly, we all sleep better knowing someone like Tehya is looking after us on the front line!

Tori’s transformation is more than just visual - it’s a full-circle comeback story 👏🔥

When she started she was carrying a shoulder injury that had been holding her back for months.

We’ve since rehabbed it fully and now that shoulder is stronger, healthier and more stable than ever

On top of that? She’s one step away from completing the fitness assessment for her dream job!!

And the physical changes? Massive 💪

Lauren 🔥
Full-time mum. Full-time worker. Now full-time confident in the gym. Lauren wanted more than fat loss, she wanted to feel strong and capable. She’s down 9.8kg and 47cm and the biggest win is how she carries herself now. Simple structured sessions, food that still fits her life and regular check-ins. The gym is now part of her lifestyle and she’s chasing PBs with confidence.

Tineale 👏
FIFO life, long shifts, changing routines, still showing up. Tineale has dropped 15kg and 76cm without extremes. 3 weights sessions a week, a bit of cardio and calories around 1750, all adjusted around her FIFO roster. Not perfect weeks, just consistent ones and it’s paying off in strength, shape and confidence.

Dani ✨
A full-time job, a normal life and a plan that actually fits. Dani is down 6.8kg and 56cm, training 3 weights sessions a week plus one 45-minute cardio session. She’s in a 15% deficit (1772 cals) and nailing the basics. The changes aren’t just on the scales, her posture, shape and overall body comp are next level.
