✨ Therapist Focus: Inaya ✨

Inaya is a La Trobe University alumna with a strong background in neurological and paediatric rehabilitation. She brings experience from private practice, hospital, and community settings, allowing her to deliver holistic and family-centred care.

With extensive experience working with children across various environments — and the ability to speak five languages — Inaya builds strong connections with both children and families. She also works as a tutor, supporting learning beyond the therapy space.

We’re proud to have Inaya as part of the First Step Therapy Services team 💙

On International Mother Language Day, we celebrate the beauty of every language and the importance of inclusive communication. Supporting children and families in their preferred language helps build understanding, confidence, and stronger connections.

At First Step Therapy Services, we value diversity and strive to create a welcoming space where every voice is heard and respected.

Let’s continue to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity today and every day 🤍

Physiotherapy can play an important role in supporting children with autism 💙

Through play-based and individualised therapy, physiotherapy helps improve motor skills, balance, coordination, and sensory regulation — supporting children to move, explore, and participate in daily activities with confidence.

At First Step Therapy Services, our physiotherapists work closely with children and families to create therapy that is supportive, strengths-based, and tailored to each child’s unique needs.

✨ Every child moves differently — and that’s okay.

Today, we stand with children, families, and caregivers affected by childhood cancer 💛

International Childhood Cancer Day is a reminder of the strength, courage, and resilience shown by young patients and their families every day. It’s also a time to raise awareness, support early diagnosis, and advocate for access to quality care and ongoing support.

At First Step Therapy Services, we believe every child deserves compassionate care, encouragement, and the opportunity to thrive — during treatment, recovery, and beyond.

Together, we can spread awareness, hope, and support 💛

Communication goes beyond words! 🗣️

For many children with disabilities, non-verbal communication is a vital way to express needs, emotions, and thoughts.

Supporting gestures, facial expressions, body language, eye gaze, and assistive tools can:
✅ Enhance social connections
✅ Reduce frustration
✅ Encourage independence
✅ Build confidence

At First Step Therapy Services, we tailor strategies to each child’s needs, helping them communicate confidently and thrive.

Feeding Tube Awareness Week is about understanding, compassion, and support 💜

Feeding tubes help individuals receive the nutrition they need when oral feeding isn’t safe or sufficient. They support growth, development, energy, and overall wellbeing — especially for children and individuals with complex needs.

✨ A feeding tube doesn’t define a person.
✨ It supports health, strength, and quality of life.

At First Step Therapy Services, we work alongside families and multidisciplinary teams to support children and adults with feeding challenges, focusing on safety, development, and confidence.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, break the stigma, and support every feeding journey!

✅ For infants: Gentle exercises and positioning help guide proper hip development.
✅ For children & adults: Targeted therapy improves hip strength, mobility, and reduces discomfort.
✅ Early detection and intervention are crucial for better outcomes.

At First Step Therapy Services, our physiotherapists provide personalized care for hip dysplasia, helping you or your child move comfortably and confidently.
