Halloween is for everyone! 👻

Small changes can make a big difference in creating an inclusive and fun experience for people of all abilities.

👩🏻‍🦯 Barrier-Free Access
Keep driveways and pathways clear of obstacles and well-lit for trick-or-treaters.

🐶 Safe Environment
Avoid strobe lights and sudden loud noises. Keep pets away from the front of the house to make it calm and welcoming.

🍬 Kindness & Patience
Some trick-or-treaters may not be able to see what they’re getting, consider describing the treats. Everyone communicates differently, so a little patience goes a long way!

World Stroke Day🧠

Did you know 1 in 4 of us will experience a stroke in our lifetime? Today, we raise awareness about stroke and emphasise the importance of recognising the warning signs. Knowing them and responding quickly can save lives.

Remember to act F.A.S.T:
🙂Face: Check if one side of the person's face droops
💪Arm: Ask them to raise both arms, does one drift down?
🗣Speech: Is their speech slurred or hard to understand?
⏱Time: Call emergency services immediately.

Every minute counts! Act fast if you spot the signs.

Celebrating the people who turn goals into action 🌟

Today, we’re recognising the extraordinary impact Occupational Therapists (OTs) have in helping our clients live safely, independently and with confidence.

The OTs we work with bring expertise, creativity and compassion to every client they support.

Here’s how OTs make a real difference every day:

✔️ Conducting functional assessments to understand each client’s mobility, sensory and daily living needs
✔️ Recommending environmental modifications and adaptive tools to make homes safer and more accessible
✔️ Prescribing equipment such as wheelchairs, shower chairs and communication aids
✔️ Developing behavioral and sensory strategies to support clients with unique needs
✔️ Providing hands-on training to Support
Workers to ensure consistent, person-centred care

Thank you to all the incredible OTs for your knowledge, dedication and the lasting difference you make every day.
