๐Ÿ’™ World Diabetes Day | 14 November
Know more and do more for diabetes at work ๐ŸŒโœจ

This World Diabetes Day, weโ€™re raising awareness about the need for better care and support in the workplace - so people living with diabetes can feel safe, empowered, and supported to manage their health at work.

For many, this means overcoming real challenges:
โŒ Missing out on training and development
โŒ Denied time off for medical appointments
โŒ Restricted access to snack or restroom breaks

Globally, 7 in 10 adults living with diabetes are of working age - yet managing their condition at work often comes with stress, stigma, and silence. The International Diabetes Federation is calling for more inclusive and supportive workplaces where employees with diabetes are respected, valued, and able to thrive - without compromising their health or ambitions.

At BHN we educate our clients to take ownership of their diabetes management through latest technology including Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ’ก

If you would like to participate in a two week free trial of CGM, please contact our Diabetes Education team by calling 132 246 or visit https://www.bhn.org.au/services/physical-health/diabetes-education/

Letโ€™s break the stigma, raise awareness, and build environments where everyone can bring their whole selves to work ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒนRemembrance Day โ€“ Lest We Forget ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

On 11 November, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who gave their lives in war and peacekeeping. At 11am, we observe a minute of silence to remember them - and reflect on the freedom we hold today.

Let us carry their legacy forward with gratitude and compassion.

Big changes are coming to aged care in Australia. From 1 November, the new Support at Home Program will replace Home Care Packages, bringing all in-home aged care supports into one simpler, more flexible system.

These reforms aim to make it easier for older Australians to access personalised, high-quality, respectful care to help them stay independent and connected in their own homes.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ This week, Claire from our Gambling Help Southern program joined host Colin on 88.3 Southern FM radio to talk about the real impact of gambling harm and how we can reduce it.

๐Ÿง Gambling Harm Awareness Week (27 Oct โ€“ 2 Nov) shines a light on how gambling can affect your self-esteem, relationships, health, work, and finances. This year's theme encourages people to set limits and seek support if needed. With the Melbourne Cup ๐Ÿ‡ just around the corner, itโ€™s a timely reminder to, โ€œSet before you betโ€.
