🌍💙 World Diabetes Day | Friday November 14th 2025 💙🌍
Today we recognise World Diabetes Day, held each year on the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin in 1921.
This year’s theme “Diabetes and Well-being” shines a light on diabetes in the workplace and the importance of creating supportive, informed environments for people living with diabetes.
💡 Key facts:
💙589 million adults are living with diabetes worldwide - and 7 in 10 are of working age.
💙Nearly half of adults with diabetes remain undiagnosed.
💙3 in 4 people living with diabetes report experiencing anxiety, depression, or another mental health condition related to their condition.
💙4 in 5 have experienced diabetes burnout.
Let’s take action to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote well-being for everyone living with diabetes - especially in the workplace.
Employers can make a difference by fostering understanding, flexibility, and support for employees managing diabetes.
Let’s all join the call to know more and do more for diabetes at work. 💙
