🎄 Christmas isn’t always picture-perfect, and that’s okay.
Sometimes, the best gift we can give ourselves is a moment to pause, breathe, and notice one small thing that’s going well—even if it’s just making it through the day.
This season, try asking yourself:

✨ “What’s one thing I did today that I’m proud of?”

✨ “Who’s one person I can connect with, even in a small way?”

✨ “What’s one step I can take toward feeling a little more hopeful?”
You don’t have to have all the answers. Progress is made up of tiny steps and small wins—especially during the holidays.
Wishing you a gentle, meaningful Christmas. If you need support or just a listening ear, I’m here.
Warmly,

Michael @ Recoverlife Counselling

That kind of all-or-nothing thinking can zap your confidence in a flash. Ever notice how quick our brains are to flip straight from “✨ PERFECT ✨” to “🔥 TOTAL FAILURE 🔥” with just one little mistake?
But real progress is messy, creative, and full of in-betweens. The truth? Nobody’s light switch stays on “perfect” for long. And that’s not just okay—it’s human.
If you find yourself stuck in the “all or nothing” trap today, pause and notice it. Maybe even laugh at how dramatic our inner critic can be. You’re doing better than you think—progress is a dimmer, not a switch.
What’s something you nearly gave up on because it wasn’t “perfect”? Drop your story below 👇 Let’s normalise the messy middle together!

Real recovery stories start with small steps.

A recent client shared how being heard and truly understood changed her outlook. She described our sessions as "a safe space to find my next step". Sometimes, the biggest progress is simply feeling less alone.

A quiet park bench changed everything for someone.

Not long ago, one of our NDIS clients shared how meeting outdoors, surrounded by trees and gentle water, helped them feel safe enough to open up. Each week, small steps led to new confidence. Together, we celebrated moments of progress—like the first time they felt comfortable joining a community group.

Everyone’s journey is different. Sometimes, a simple change of setting can make all the difference.

If you or someone you know is looking for support that meets you where you are, I’m here to help. Reach out anytime for a confidential chat.

Sunday evening. You're already thinking about Monday.

The anxiety creeps in. The 'what ifs'. The weight of the week ahead.

Here's what I've learned from working with hundreds of people: that feeling isn't weakness. It's your nervous system doing its job—trying to protect you.

But here's the shift: instead of fighting it, what if you asked yourself one question tonight?

'What's ONE thing I want to feel good about this week?'

Not perfect. Not everything. Just one.

That's where recovery starts. Not in the big moments. In the small choices.

If you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I'm here to help. Reach out anytime or visit recoverlifecounselling.com.au :)

This weekend, try this: Instead of focusing on what's not working, ask yourself one simple question.

"What's one small thing that went well this week?"

It doesn't have to be big. A conversation you had. A task you completed. A moment you felt okay. Even getting out of bed counts.

Solution-focused thinking isn't about ignoring problems—it's about noticing what's already working and building from there. Your brain is wired to spot problems. This weekend, give it permission to spot what's going right.

What's one thing you'll notice this weekend?

Friday afternoon. The week's catching up with you.

You're exhausted. Anxious. Maybe a bit lost about what it all means.

The weekend's coming, but instead of relief, you're dreading the quiet. The time alone with your thoughts.

What if there was a way to shift that?

The Miracle Question isn't about ignoring the struggle—it's about seeing past it. In just 5 minutes, it helps your brain imagine what's possible when the weight lifts.

The 7-Day Miracle worksheets walk you through this step by step:

Day 1: The Miracle Question (see beyond the struggle)
Day 2: Building Your Vision (what does better look like?)
Day 3: Spotting What's Already Working (you're stronger than you think)
Days 4-7: Creating Real Change (practical steps forward)

Start this weekend. Give yourself 5 minutes a day to reset.

Begin your free 7-day journey today.
