We're thrilled to share our 2026 Respite Newsletter, filled with an exciting mix of farm stays, island escapes, camping weekends, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Whether you're after relaxation, adventure or connection, there' s plenty to look forward to.

You may notice the newsletter looks a little different this year. With the recent NDIS changes, some of the respite categories and cost breakdowns have been updated. To help make everything clear, we've added a detailed FAQ section at the end of the newsletter explaining how Short-Term Respite, Freedom Getaways, out-of-pocket costs and bookings now work.

🚗 Driving Independence for Young Australians with Disability

We love seeing other providers creating opportunities that build confidence, skills and independence. A new driving-simulator program in regional South Australia is doing exactly that - supporting young people with disability to learn to drive in a safe and empowering way.

For participants like 20-year-old Kaitie Francis, who has low vision, this simulator has turned something that once felt out of reach into a real possibility. Early results even show driving competency improving by nearly 50%!

Such an inspiring initiative and absolutely worth celebrating. 💛

We kicked off Halloween with a yummy dinner at Cactus Jack’s in Redcliffe before heading out trick-or-treating! 🎃🌮

Even though the storm cut things short, it didn’t ruin a thing - costumes, laughs, lollies, memories… our Freedom fam still had the BEST night! 🧡

And the biggest surprise… STERLING IS BACK!!! 👻🔥
