⚠️ BOIL WATER ALERT - DARWIN AND PALMERSTON

A boil water alert is issued for Greater Darwin and Palmerston and surrounding areas due to the flooding of Darwin River Dam.

Use cooled boiled water or bottled water for:
• Drinking
• Preparing food
• Preparing baby formula
• Brushing teeth

Residents are urged to conserve the water supply for the above uses only.

NT Health will lift the boil water alert after Power and Water confirms the water supply system is fully operational and the water is safe to drink.

💕 Happy international Women’s Day 💕

For myself, this day reminds me that being a woman in leadership means using your voice to help create opportunities, remove barriers, and support others to grow. When women are given the tools like education, mentorship, confidence, and opportunity, great things happen. Women bring strength, compassion, resilience, and collaboration to create positive change within organisations and communities, particularly here in the NT.

At Family Planning NT, we see this every day. Our work is centred around empowering women with knowledge, access to healthcare, and the confidence to make informed decisions about their own bodies and their futures. Supporting women is not only about health but also about creating stronger, healthier women and having autonomy over their own bodies.

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the achievements of women who have come before us, acknowledge the progress that has been made, and recognise the work that still lies ahead. It reminds us of the importance of continuing to uplift, support, and equip women to step confidently within themselves and keep creating lasting change for all future generations.

Your health matters.

Cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to detect cervical cancer. Making it beneficial to have it tested every 5 years.

On March 19-20, our clinic is offering free Cervical Screening tests to those aged 25 or over with a cervix. The tests are conducted by Registered Nurses, Midwives, and Aboriginal Health Practitioners who are undergoing training.

You will receive $40 in cash as a thank-you for having a professional health trainer perform your cervical screening.

You DON’T need to be due for your screen.
You DO need to be comfortable with a trainee doing the test.
