International Day of People with Disability is about promoting inclusion, understanding, and respect for people of all abilities. This year’s theme is Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.

📣 Important Announcement: New Aged Care Act and Support at Home Program Begin Tomorrow
We’re entering a new chapter in aged care. Starting 1 November 2025, the new Aged Care Act officially comes into effect, along with the launch of the Support at Home Program.

These reforms mark a significant step forward in improving the quality, flexibility, and transparency of aged care services across Australia. The Support at Home Program replaces the Home Care Packages Program and is designed to better support older people to live independently at home, with care that is timely, tailored, and empowering.

As your trusted not-for-profit provider, Community Care Options will continue to deliver services under the new program. We remain committed to partnering with you—now as your Care Partner—to ensure your care reflects your goals, preferences, and independence.

We’ll be sharing more details soon, but rest assured: we’re here to guide you through the transition and continue providing the high-quality support you deserve.

National Carers Week 12th - 18th October 2025, recognises, celebrates and raises awareness about the 3 million Australians who provide care to a family member or friend. This year’s theme, “You are, know, or will be one,” highlights the widespread nature of caring and it’s impact on virtually every person at some point in their lives.

If you would like to learn more about supports available, Carers Australia has a range of resources on their website www.carersaustralia.com.au. You can also contact Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737. Carer Gateway provides a range of supports and services to carers including information and advice, peer support, free counselling, coaching and training.

Hi, my name is Melinda! I am a Plan Manager here at Community Care Options. I am passionate about my role and enjoy working closely with participants and their support teams to ensure funding is managed efficiently and in line with their individual goals.

Having lived on the Mid North Coast most of my life, I have a deep appreciation for the people and the relaxed lifestyle of our region. I bring several years of hands-on experience in accounts and bookkeeping, customer service, and administrative support. This experience has shaped me into someone who can be relied upon to deliver quality work, build trust with those I support and contribute to successful outcomes for our clients.
