The Men's Cooking Group made a one-pan dish of savoury mince, which is minced meat with vegetables in a rich gravy, served with rice and crusty bread. Savoury mince is a versatile and popular comfort food in both Australia and Britain, commonly served on toast, with rice, or mashed potatoes. The dish's history is connected to the broader history of mince, which can be traced back to the 11th century with crusaders introducing mixtures of chopped meat and spices to Britain.

At 11am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained a special significance in the post-war years. Universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war and originally known as Armistice Day, it was renamed Remembrance Day after World War Two to commemorate those who were killed in both World Wars.

Today the loss of Australian lives from all wars and conflicts is commemorated on Remembrance Day.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.

It takes a village!
Our regular visitors to Cohuna have once again set up a lemonade stall and raised over $70 in real cash for CDH. Pictured with CEO Bernadette Loughnane are Talisha, Stephanie, Isla and Ruby. All holidaying from Bacchus Marsh, we express our gratitude to their families and friends for enabling their generosity and altruism.

Tell your story with Care Opinion.
We believe the best way for care services to improve is for our staff to see the care they provide through the eyes of the people who receive it and their loved ones.
At Care Opinion, your story is feedback written as a brief description of a personal experience of care with a service provider. It usually includes what happened, what you think was good and/or could have been better and how you felt about that experience. Your story can be about you or somebody close to you.
Please share you stories about the Cohuna Residential aged Care today: please go to https://www.careopinion.org.au/opinions?nacs=15625
