For many people, access to fuel isn't something they've had to think about. But for us, it’s essential to the care we provide.
Each day, we travel across our community to be there for families navigating loss. To bring care, dignity, and support when it’s needed most. These aren’t moments that can be rescheduled or delayed, they matter deeply, and they happen in real time.
At times, our industry isn’t always recognised as essential, which can make it harder to access the resources we need. This is one of those moments.
Without reliable access to fuel, there’s a risk that the care families depend on could be disrupted. And that’s something that weighs heavily on us, because being there when it matters most is at the heart of what we do.
We will reach out to leaders within our community to advocate for funeral services to be recognised as essential in fuel planning, so we can continue to be there for the Colac and wider community without interruption. Because when a family needs us, being there isn’t something that can wait.
Funeral directors travel significant distances every day to bring loved ones into care and support families through the funeral process. Reliable access to fuel is essential to ensure these services continue without disruption.
As the peak national body, Funerals Australia is advocating to State and Federal Ministers for funeral services to be recognised as an essential service in any fuel prioritisation arrangements, helping ensure families can continue to receive care when they need it most.
Join us in advocating for recognition of funeral services in emergency fuel planning.
