Meet the Heart of our Clinic: Chris Huxtable!

If you’ve been to our clinic, you likely know Chris—our Principal Osteopath and a familiar face around Colac.

With over two decades of experience since graduating from RMIT with First Class Honors in 2001, Chris’s journey has taken him from the Surf Coast to some of the busiest clinics in Sydney, and finally back home to the Southwest. In 2006, he established our current home at 6 Hart Street!

A Passion for Movement & Mentorship: Chris isn’t just a practitioner; he’s an educator. When he isn’t in the clinic, he is a Clinical Supervisor at Victoria University, guiding 4th and 5th-year students. He also leads injury management for local AFL clubs, including the Colac Tigers. 🐯⚽️

Clinical Expertise: ✅ Structural Osteopathy: For everyone from newborns to the elderly. ✅ Surgical Rehab: Specialising in joint replacement (pre and post-surgery). ✅ Sports Injuries: Drawing on his own background in AFL, cricket, and surfing. ✅ Dry Needling: Incorporated into treatments when required.

Whether he’s watching his children play sport or catching a wave, Chris is dedicated to keeping our community moving.

Meet osteopath Kirsty Kirkman: A Dedicated Advocate for Family Health 🩺✨

With nearly a decade of clinical experience since graduating in 2016, Kirsty is one of our most highly trained practitioners in maternal and paediatric osteopathy.

Kirsty’s commitment to "lifelong learning" is truly inspiring. Over the last few years, she has completed specialised courses ranging from Adolescent Hip & Knee considerations to her most recent 2025 training in Paediatric Orofacial Myology and Oral Tie assessments.

We are so lucky to have Charlie as part of our Osteopathic team! Since he was young, Charlie has been fascinated by biology and how the human body works—a passion that led him to graduate from Victoria University in 2021.

What makes Charlie’s approach special? Balance. ⚖️

Charlie understands that no two bodies are the same. He takes pride in being a "chameleon" in the treatment room—adapting his style to suit your specific needs, whether you require a firm structural approach or something more gentle. It’s all about finding the right fit for your body to get the best possible outcome.

When he’s not in the clinic: Charlie is a true adventurer! He loves exploring the world, whether he’s trekking through the bush on a beautiful hike, heading off on a camping trip, or travelling to new places with his friends and family. 🗺️⛺️

Meet osteopath Emily Duynhoven - Community & Sports Focused (Perfect for the Colac/Simpson region)

Emily graduated in 2023 from Victoria University with a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy), Emily is a familiar face in our local sporting community.

When she isn’t in the clinic, she’s likely on the netball court. for Simpson in the Colac District Football Netball League! 🏆

Emily’s passion for movement translates directly into her treatments. She loves the challenge of creating "patient-centred" plans, ensuring you leave your appointment feeling motivated, informed, and ready to take control of your recovery.
