High-impact activities create stiffer, stronger bones through Wolff’s Law by generating strain rates 2 to 5.5 times higher than walking. Interestingly, a history of running alone did not provide the same protective effect. 🦴💪
Research shows that playing a high-impact sport ( e.g. basketball as per this study) significantly reduces the risk of fractures.
