We're loving the here this week!

And today, we'd love to introduce you to Hayley from Somnia Sleep Psychology...who had us all when she mentioned better sleep!

💖

Hi Everyone!

I’m Hayley Dohnt, mum of 2, wife, daughter, sister, Aunty, friend, and Clinical Psychologist.

I help families and individuals get better sleep. I love being able to help people improve their sleep, mood and anxiety, which can make such a huge difference to their overall well-being and functioning.

I primarily work with children, adolescents and parents, helping them to be brave and manage their thoughts and emotions, to be able to participate in all of the things they wish they could, but aren’t quite getting there.

I love working with anxious kids, sad and angry teenagers, and their parents, to help them navigate through tricky times.

I have a special interest and experience in sleeping difficulties and I sneak in helping adults for these problems as well.

The feedback I am hearing and experiencing myself from Psychologists is that referrals are through the roof at the moment. That’s a concern as maybe people aren’t doing well, but I like to try and think helpfully, and reframe it that maybe that means people are deciding to get the help they need!

Please DM me if you have a question or comment. I’m always here to help the best I can. I’m located at Colonel Light Gardens.

I also love reading, baking, socialising, sleeping, and family time. I am extremely close to my extended family and so lucky to have the support I have.

What a wonderful group of inspiring women this is! So pleased to be a part of it. Thank you

xx

Daylight Savings starts next weekend and we lose an hour of sleep. It’s a good time to start thinking about how this might impact your sleep.

For early risers, this changeover can be a good time to realign your (or your kids!) body clock. Try pushing out your bedtime for 15mins for 3-4 days in the lead up to DLS (and even after for a couple of days!).

For late risers, try going to bed a little earlier for a few nights before the change, so losing an hour doesn’t feel so bad, and try not to sleep in too much on day 1 (which can delay your body clock)!

Enjoy the longer days!

Are you prepared to move your clock forward by one hour on Sunday 4 Oct?
