the grieving ones,
the grateful ones.
There is space for all of you here.

We can’t wait to welcome you from January 5th, 2026.

In 2025, Hx became less about doing more and more about being with what is.

We held space.
We witnessed growth.
We sat with grief, courage, confusion, breakthroughs, and quiet wins.
We watched people return to themselves - gently, bravely, imperfectly.

To every client who trusted the process.
To every practitioner who showed up with care and integrity.
To every conversation, session, walk, tear, insight, and exhale….
Thank you for co-creating this year with us.

Here’s to 2026.
More presence.
More integration.
More truth.

With love, Hx

A slow morning walk and space to breathe.

Our Walk & Talk sessions support emotional wellbeing, connection, and gentle movement. What a beautiful way to start the day.

Many of us were taught that “no” must come softened, explained, or justified, that we owe others our reasoning to make our boundaries acceptable. But true self-respect does not ask for permission. It simply recognises what feels right and acts from that place of clarity.

Learning to say no without guilt is not about shutting people out.

It is about staying connected to yourself while you connect with others. It is about trusting your inner knowing - even when it disappoints or surprises someone else. Your “no” creates space for what’s true.

Most men don’t avoid therapy because they don’t care.
They avoid it because they were taught to handle things quietly - to fix, not feel.
But silence doesn’t heal what it hides.
At Hunter Holistix, therapy doesn’t always have to happen across a couch.
It can happen side-by-side on a walk, out in the salt air, or grounded in the quiet of nature.
We offer Walk & Talk Therapy - and soon, Surf Therapy - as ways to make reaching out feel a little more natural.
Because strength isn’t silence.
It’s knowing when it’s time to stop carrying it alone.

In honour of men’s mental health month, we celebrate one of the amazing men on our team, Michael.

Michael is a counsellor who brings calm presence, compassion, and real-world depth to every session. Grounded, genuine, and deeply attuned, he’s here to help you reconnect to what truly matters.

November is here, and you can already feel the pressure, the end-of-year rush, holiday build-up, and extra commitments. It often feels like we’re just trying to ride the wave without getting pulled under.

For many men, distress doesn’t present as the sadness we often expect. Instead, the pressure builds beneath the surface and comes out in powerful, often confusing, ways.
Swipe through the slides to see the difference between the surface wave (what’s visible) and the currents below (the hidden signs of distress).

Recognising these subtle shifts is the crucial first step toward finding your footing. What’s one small sign you’ve noticed in yourself lately that tells you to pause and slow down? Share below (no pressure, just a moment of awareness).

Menopause is an initiation - a chance to listen inward, to reconnect, and to bring compassion to all the parts that arise.

Let’s use this month to:
Honor our inner experiences.
Bring curiosity to the parts that feel unseen or dismissed.
Embrace the wisdom and power that comes with this transition.

IFS invites us to move through menopause not with resistance, but with relationship - with every part of us that needs care, comfort, and connection.

Sometimes the deepest healing isn’t loud. It’s the quiet return to yourself.
The slowing down.
The listening.
The remembering that everything you seek already lives within you.

Come home to your own sanctuary within.

We often brush off mood changes before a period as “just PMS,” but Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is something deeper and often misunderstood.

PMDD is a hormone-related mood disorder that can dramatically affect mental health in the luteal phase (the week or two before menstruation).

If these symptoms appear cyclically and ease once your period starts, it’s worth exploring PMDD with a professional.
You’re not “too sensitive”. Your hormones and nervous system are simply asking for care.

At Hunter Holistix, we take a mind–body–soul approach to support hormone-related mental health through psychology, occupational therapy, and holistic care.

If this resonates, you’re not alone. Reach out to our team for compassionate support.

Healing trauma starts with small, consistent shifts, even in the way we support our brain’s natural chemistry.

Here are a few gentle ways to boost dopamine naturally (no quick fixes, just nervous-system kindness):
• Move your body — walking, dancing, stretching. Movement tells your brain you’re safe and alive.
• Celebrate small wins — making your bed, sending that email, journaling. Tiny goals = tiny dopamine hits.
• Get sunlight and fresh air — light helps reset your mood and energy.
• Reduce overstimulation — limit constant scrolling so your brain can find joy in simple moments again.
Trauma can interrupt your brain’s reward system, but healing restores it.
