Mindful Munchkins

Mindful Munchkins is an adventure yoga program which incorporates yoga postures, breathing technique

Each week the children jump on board the ‘adventure bus’ with Miss Chantelle and are taken on a journey to explore different topics about their health, animals and the world around them. The children become part of the adventure by using their bodies to form yoga poses of animals and objects they see along the way. Through songs, yoga and fun, the children learn tools to help them be mindful, calm and confident.

It’s been quite a long time between posts but I had a baby so that’s a pretty good excuse. 😬😬⁣

I had my first yoga incursion for the year today. It was such a delight sharing the Recycle Yogi’s adventure with the little Munchkins at Burleigh for Earth Day! ⁣

I know most 3-5 year olds could spend hours observing creepy crawlies, so I created this adventure all about these wonderful creatures.⁣

On our way we learn about the parts of an insect and ways to care for creatures big and small.⁣

In line with national recycling week, I thought I’d share this super quick activity that you can try using an old tissue box.⁣
⁣
Simply cut out poses from the Mindful Munchkins’ PDF (or your own poses) and attach to each side of the tissue box.⁣
⁣
Have your child roll the ‘die’ and form the pose that the die lands on.⁣
⁣
Super easy, with minimal resources! Yay!!⁣
⁣
