She births her placenta … ♥️
This incredible, temporary organ quietly sustained her baby’s every moment in her womb. ♥️
Come along and witness the birth of this amazing organ.
👉 Swipe to honour its story. 🌿
The birth isn’t truly over when your baby is born.
The placenta is a vital chapter in the sacred birth journey.
Supporting its birth is about slowing down… allowing warmth, safety, and space for the mother’s body to finish its work.
There’s no need to rush.
No tugging or hurrying.
Just presence, patience, and reverence.
When left undisturbed, the body knows.
The placenta releases in its own time, guided by physiological signs, and the birthing woman’s unique rhythm.
Sometimes, divergences occur.
Complications can arise, and we respond with care and wisdom, always keeping the woman at the centre of her experience.
Every birth is different, and every story deserves respect.
After birth, I take precious time with families to explore and marvel at this incredible organ, the tree of life itself, before deciding how they wish to honour it.
Some plant it beneath a tree 🌳
Some eat it, having small chunks in a smoothie or a meal ♥️
Some create remedies, tinctures, or cord keepsakes 🌿
Some honour its fullness through Lotus Birth 🌸 (more on that another time)
However it’s celebrated, this moment deserves quiet honour and awe.
It’s the final unfolding of the birthing journey, and a reminder to remain curious to the magic of birth.
My new blog post is gestating beautifully… patience is a virtue when birthing babies, placentas, and blogs alike 😉
