Did you hear our Audiologist Sophie Robinson on Radio ABC South East NSW this morning? 🎧

Sophie was chatting to Eddie about everything to do with altitude, ears and flying. We had a great discussion about what is happening to our ears when we fly, and how to help make flights more comfortable for those of us who suffer from ear problems. ✈️

A really interesting question from a caller was what can be done to help babies and children when they experience painful ears on a flight? A great solution is to try and feed your child on takeoff or landing, this allows their Eustachian tube to open up, and should stop any pressure related pain in the ears!

For anyone who experiences blocked ears or pain after flying, its always worth getting this checked out with an Audiologist or your GP.

Please give us a call if you'd like to book an appointment!

🌍 Today is World Hearing Day! 🌍

This year, the World Health Organization is focusing on:
“From communities to classrooms: Hearing care for all children.”

Common issues like glue ear, chronic ear infections, and impacted ear wax are often preventable or treatable. But when left unaddressed, hearing loss can affect speech, learning, confidence, and long-term opportunities.

At Cooma Hearing, we are passionate about helping children hear better. We see children from 6 months of age for hearing assessments and ear wax removal.

If you'd like to book in, or even just have any questions about your child's hearing, please don't hesitate to give us a call today!

It’s so exciting to see Peppa Pig give George a hearing loss storyline — and even more exciting that the Audiologist is voiced by Jodie Ounsley. Jodie is from Yorkshire, just like our very own Audiologist Sophie!

Jodie also has hearing loss herself and has worn a cochlear implant since childhood, which makes this representation even more meaningful.

Seeing hearing loss, hearing devices, and audiologists portrayed positively — and voiced by someone with lived experience — is incredibly powerful for children and families.

Well done Peppa Pig!

Peppa's brother, George, is revealed to be moderately deaf, and is fitted with a hearing aid. As part of George’s hearing loss journey, we’re incredibly prou...

👂Tinnitus Awareness Week, 2nd-8th February👂

Tinnitus affects people of all ages and can come and go, or be there all the time. For some it’s just a mild annoyance, and for others it can impact sleep, concentration, and quality of life.

While there is no 'cure' for tinnitus, there are many different options available to give you relief from the symptoms of tinnitus.

At Cooma Hearing, we offer comprehensive diagnostic tinnitus assessments, taking the time to understand the whole picture and what may be contributing to your tinnitus.

🎧Workplace Hearing Screening – Upcoming Deadline for NSW Employers!

From 1 January 2026, new regulations come into effect for NSW businesses whose workers are regularly required to wear hearing protection due to hazardous noise levels.

Under these changes, employers must:
• Arrange a baseline hearing test within the first three months of a worker commencing employment, and
• Provide follow-up audiometric testing at least every two years.

At Cooma Hearing, we provide fully compliant workplace hearing screening in line with WorkSafe NSW requirements. Your employees can be tested in our Cooma clinic, or we can travel to your workplace to complete assessments onsite.

Please note: there are now less than 6 weeks until the new regulations commence, and appointment availability is filling fast.

To book your employee hearing tests, please contact us via:
