Liver smoothie.
_ 1-2 chicken livers
_ 3/4 cup blueberries
_ 1 large handful of lemon balm & mint
_ 250ml of almond milk I use
_ optional any of your other crazy add ons you like. Mushroom powders, collagen, herbs (cinnamon, cardamom).
Blend until smooth.
Trying to incorporate organs into my diet has been a battle. I don’t mind the taste but I find it hard to get it in the amount I would like. I am definitely not eating spag bowl every day.
It is such a powerhouse of nutrients. My favourite which is fairly hard to obtain from many other things is vitamin A (hello supple skin, gut and happy immune system).
Plus for those who love to get the most out of their mind, it has a medicinal dose of choline on board. Choline is needed to produce acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter for memory, mood, muscle control, and other brain and nervous system functions. Plus helps support liver pathways.
It also hits the spot for me as usually this is a part that gets thrown out.
For those game let me know. I swear to you this is the only way I’ve found that completely covers it.
