Corryong Health

Corryong Health Together, Strengthening the Health of our Community In 1902 the foundation stone was laid for what then became known as the Victoria Cottage Hospital.

Our History
The origins of the Health Service date back to 1897 when plans to build the Corryong Cottage Hospital were conceived. In 1916 the foundation stone of the present hospital was laid. Over the years, the number of acute beds rose to its peak of forty-two in the 1960’s and on 5th November 1983 the Upper Murray Nursing Home, a 20-bed high aged care facility, was opened. In the early 1990’s the Agency took the opportunity to apply to be funded under the Multi-Purpose Program. This was to enable a more flexible and responsive service to be developed that would met the changing needs of our isolated rural community. In 1995 the Services was renamed Upper Murray Health & Community Services and commenced operation as a Multi-Purpose Service (MPS). In 2017 the agency was renamed Corryong Health. Today, Corryong Health is a highly integrated and considerably larger organisation providing a broad range of hospital, residential aged care, medical and primary health and community support services. The service also operates a Medical Clinic, Health and Fitness Centre and the Retirement Village. Our Health Service is truly responsive to the community’s needs.

Corryong Health is warmly sharing the following message from Linda Nankervis, Corryong Uniting Church:

"Dear Family Members and Friends,

The Churches of Corryong and the Upper Murray and Corryong Health, would like to invite you to a Remembrance Service to be held on Wednesday evening the 19th of November at 7pm.
This year it is being held at Corryong Uniting Church, Donaldson Street, Corryong.

The service is a time to remember those we have loved and lost over the past 12 months.

During the Service we will share some beautiful music and words of comfort and hope. Also as names are read out you will be able to take a rose in memory of our loved ones.

As we share in this time of remembering, we live with our own personal hopes and dreams as well as our grief and sadness.

It is our desire that in sharing this Worship time we may not only touch the sadness of loss but also sense the peace, blessing and comfort of our loving Heavenly Father.

We trust you will be able to join us on this special evening and stay for a delicious supper at the conclusion of the service.

With every good wish and God Bless You"

“Not Perfect, Better” campaign is a shift in how we think about preventing violence against women. The evidence tells us that what drives violence against women, such as rigid gender stereotyping and dominant forms of masculinity, is bad for everyone.

At Corryong Health, we undertake regular training to raise staff’s awareness of signs of domestic violence, and especially on the occasion of White Ribbon Month - this November. If you need to discuss, whatever your gender, reach out to our Mental Health team or find the support that is right for you: https://corryonghealth.org.au/contact/

Corryong Health now offers Telehealth GP appointments.

With the chronic shortage of on-site GPs that is affecting many rural communities, Corryong Health decided to be proactive and back up face-to-face consultations with Telehealth, starting this week.

What is Telehealth?
🩵 Same Care. Same Team. Just a new way to see your GP.
📞 Book your appointment by calling our Medical Reception on: (02) 6076 3290.
🏥 Arrive at the clinic as usual.
👩‍⚕️ Our Practice Nurse will check your vitals (blood pressure, temperature, etc.)
📲 You’ll connect to your GP via a secure video link.
🗣 Choose if you’d like the nurse to stay or have your consult privately.

Telehealth GP appointments will include familiar faces such as Dr Tyson Pardon and Dr Mary-Anne Lancaster, along with some new doctors joining our team.

Corryong Health is striving to recruit new doctors. Meanwhile, Telehealth ensures you can still access GP care locally — safely, quickly, and with the same support from our clinic team.
Please note, HotDoc online booking is not yet available for Telehealth. Please call the clinic to discuss your best option.
