Life skills in action! 🎾🚗🌟

At Ability Network, we’re passionate about building confidence and independence by learning real-life skills within our community.

Our Thursday Social Night saw everyone out on the court playing tennis 🎾- building coordination, teamwork, confidence and having plenty of fun along the way! Social skills, fitness and friendships all in one great evening.

Participants practiced essential life skills by shopping at our local Woolworths 🛒 — learning how to select items, manage a budget, and navigate a real-world environment.

We also captured some fantastic moments of:-

Participants safely filling up a car with fuel 🚘⛽ - an important everyday skill that supports independence and community access.

Donna enjoyed a lovely night out supporting Shane Kerr and Lusi Austin - a wonderful example of staying connected and being part of our local community. ✨

Shane also visited the iconic Parkes Observatory - what an incredible experience exploring one of Australia’s most famous landmarks and expanding knowledge of this great town 🌌

These everyday experiences are so much more than activities, they’re opportunities to grow independence, develop practical skills, strengthen social confidence and truly be part of our community.

So proud of everyone stepping up, having a go and continuing to grow every day. 💙🧡

What a wonderful week at Ability Network! 🎨💛

Our Paint & Sip Day was a huge success, with our budding artists creating their own beautiful masterpieces – the creativity and smiles said it all!

Our woodwork crew have been busy crafting gorgeous Valentine’s creations, showing off their skills and attention to detail. 💕

In the kitchen, our MasterChefs cooked up a delicious meatloaf with veggies – teamwork and tasty results! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Dan has been hard at work in metalwork, creating an impressive turtle – what a talent! 🐢

So proud of the variety of activities, skills and social opportunities happening across our programs. Every day is full of creativity, connection and achievement! 💙

We may not have taken out the top spot, but Ability Network proudly came 4th in the Best Saleyard Competition! 🎉

We couldn’t be prouder of our incredible team, led by Angela Mc Cormick and the effort that goes into what they do at the Saleyard Kiosk.

🎭✨ Dress-Up Day Fun at Ability Network! ✨🎭

As a leading non-profit disability support organisation, days like this highlight that no matter the program, our staff are always creating opportunities for participants to not only have fun, but to engage in meaningful activities that support individual goals, confidence, social connection and self-expression.

Our recent fun activity was all about dressing up as our favourite characters – and what a day it was!

The day showcased our very own Tom Downing, inspiring a range of different characters and plenty of smiles along the way. There were lots of activities, plenty of laughter throughout the day, and we finished things off in true Ability Network style with karaoke.

A huge thank you to Lisa Bernays and the team for creating such a fun, engaging and memorable day for everyone involved.

It was definitely a fun day with purpose. 💙🧡
