We aim to support neurodivergent individuals with neuroaffirming therapies. Out in regional Australia there are often less resources to support people locally so often telehealth or video conferencing can be a good option. This can also be true when accessing social groups, as these can also be done online.

As the rain gently drizzles down on Central West NSW this Sunday, it's the ideal backdrop for a day of rest and rejuvenation. While the world outside may be grey and drizzly, it's the perfect opportunity to wind down and prepare for the bustling week ahead. Whether it’s cozying up with a good book, enjoying a warm cup of tea, or indulging in some well-deserved self-care, today is all about you. How are you nurturing yourself during this tranquil day? Embrace the calm!

Now the weather is warming up, what will you do over summer to do some needed self-care? I often use this chance to do some early morning or late evening gardening.

Self-care is so key and easy to miss, so just a reminder to schedule time for yourself.

Self-care Sunday. What will you do today for you? For me, some gardening and cooking is on the menu.

Self-care, it's important and we often hear a lot about it. But when I speak to therapists (and clients) we often struggle to make the time for it. For some time now, I have mentioned to my clients and supervisees that we must allocate time for self-care, as we often lose it amongst the busyness of life.

This can lead to a build up over time and I creases the risk and chances of burnout. I now call it 'intentional self-care', as a reminder to make space and the importance of being present during self-care.

This should be something we try to do as often as needed, and I often work with others to help fit this into their schedules. It's easy to get lost in the chaos of life.

Mens mental health is something I am seeing as an increasing concern. Being out in regional NSW many barriers are faced from systemic pressures, stigma and intergenerational issues that means seeking support can be a barrier, as well as finding the correct support. It can be a major challenge for me to speak up and voice what is affecting them. Support is available via telehealth for those in regional and remote Australia for those that this is a fit for.

Supervision. Something I often do not hear much of in the profession. Supervision is key to developing awareness of legal and ethical obligations, supporting enhanced clinical practice and merging theory and practice, also known as praxis. Coming into 2026 can be a good time to reflect on what you are getting out of supervision.
