Another day, another session of defying the odds.
I was told I’d need another spinal surgery if I kept lifting.
That I’d need a knee operation for the torn meniscus.
That training this hard at my age was dangerous.
That a plant-based diet wouldn’t support strength or muscle growth.
That I needed meat to stay healthy and powerful.
But here’s the truth:
In my early 30s, I recovered from a broken spine, without surgery.
In my late 30s, I won every competition I entered. At 40, I won the Universe title.
After a decade away from the stage, I returned at 50 for one final round, and won both State and National titles.
I placed 2nd in the World.
All of this, on a plant-based diet. No drugs. No shortcuts. Just discipline,
I still have that meniscus tear.
But with correct form, rehab, and trust in the body’s design… it adapted.
It got stronger.
Your body knows how to heal.
You just need to give it the right environment.
Healing is its native language.
