Cervical screening involves a simple test to check for human papillomavirus (HPV) – a common infection that causes almost all cervical cancers – before it has the chance to develop into abnormal or cancerous cells.

There are two options for having a Cervical Screening Test. One option is to have a healthcare provider collect your sample from your cervix. The other option is to collect your own sample from your va**na.

If you are unsure about whether you have had the Cervical Screening Test or not, or whether you’re due for your screening, you should speak to your healthcare provider. Early detection could save your life.

If you don’t have a preferred doctor, healthdirect.gov.au can help you find a healthcare provider to book your test with.

From 1 July 2022, the eligibility criteria to access CGM and Flash GM products through the NDSS will be expanded to include all people with type 1 diabetes. From this date, all people with type 1 diabetes will be able to apply for access.

The process to apply for access to subsidised products will depend on whether a person has used CGM or Flash GM technology before (either accessed through the NDSS or directly from a product supplier). For most people, there are a few steps they will need to undertake before they can start purchasing subsidised products.

Information is now available on the NDSS website to provide guidance for people with type 1 diabetes and health professionals.

To help paramedics save lives, save triple zero (000) calls for emergencies.

Your local GP can help if you have a minor injury and illness, need examination, or need advice or referral to a specialist.

A local pharmacist can provide health advice and medicines for minor illnesses.

And there's the Nurse-On-Call hotline (1300 60 60 24) for immediate, expert advice, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

So, save triple zero (000) calls and ambulances for emergencies.
