Looking after yourself really does make everything else feel that bit easier. When you're feeling steady and supported, it's easier to face whatever the day brings.

It's not about getting it perfect - just doing what you can, when you can. That counts.

During EMDR Therapy, trauma reprocessing can evoke various thoughts, emotions, memories, and physical sensations. While the journey of trauma recovery is unique for everyone, here are some common experiences you may go through in EMDR:

💡 Insights: Moments of clarity or understanding about past experiences often emerge. These insights can shift your perspective and foster healing.

🕊️ Relief: Amidst the emotional work, moments of relief and lightness can surface, offering glimpses of the peace that comes with processing and healing.

🧠 Memories: EMDR can bring forgotten or suppressed memories to the forefront. While this can be surprising, it's a step in understanding and healing from past experiences.

🌊 Tears: Crying during or after a session is common. It's a powerful release of pent-up emotions, a sign that you're working through and processing deep-seated feelings.

💤 Fatigue: The intensity of focusing on and processing emotional experiences can lead to feelings of tiredness. Be sure to rest; it's your body's way of healing.

🤝 Connection: You might find yourself feeling more open and connected to others. Healing can enhance empathy and deepen relationships.

Remember, each reaction is a unique part of your healing journey. It's okay to feel what you're feeling, and we're here to support you through the process. You've got this.

Read that again.

It’s so easy to get swept up in what we see on screens. Filtered moments that can quietly stir up comparison. Does their life seem lighter? More exciting? More ‘together’?

But what we see online is often just a small, polished glimpse. Not the whole story. The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it. You’re enough. You’re doing great.

Happy OT Week 2025! 💛🙌

We’re loving this little setup - calming snacks on one side, alerting on the other 🍬 It’s a fun and simple way to show how OTs support wellbeing.

A big shoutout to OTs for the incredible work you do! 💚

A little peek at our sensory toy corner 💚

For some of our neurodivergent clients, having access to sensory tools can make the space feel more comfortable and easier to settle into.

Creating choice, flexibility, and safety in the therapy environment is part of our commitment to neuro-affirming care.

Sometimes we carry emotions, expectations, or responsibilities that were never truly ours to begin with.

This reflection is a gentle reminder that you’re allowed to pause, check in, and lay down what’s too heavy.

A quiet moment at the end of the day - just some sea breeze, soft light, and a new (plastic) friend. It’s the simple things.

Feeling safe in a relationship isn’t about everything being perfect. It’s about knowing you can be real, mess up, talk things through, and still be met with care.

Emotional safety grows when we feel heard, respected, and not judged. It shows up in the small things: someone checking in, owning their mistakes, or simply being present when things get tough.

It takes time to build, but it makes all the difference in how we connect with the people around us.

Some days are just really hard - and getting through them is something to be proud of.

If today’s one of those days, or if you’ve had a few lately, this is your reminder to pause and acknowledge your strength in simply getting through.
