The year was 2001, after a lot of fun travelling and teaching Japanese children the skill toy Yoho Diabolo, I discovered my desire to look past the morning ritual of my favourite brew, and I undertook a job in the early days of Byron Bay Coffee Company. Many mornings riding through the foggy hills on my scooter, I’d get to the old factory where Franco and Annie would welcome their team with a brief sit and chat with our coffee.
Here I was Franco’s apprentice, he taught me the old ways of roasting on a barrel roaster, cupping each single origin, striving to blend some of the now most recognised specialty coffee blends.
My love of festivals and the travelling life was calling, Cocoloco had some of my training, and Khaled now needed a second front,a for festivals. I created this blend ‘Ménage a Trois’ for our journey seeking festivals like WOMAD, Woodford Folk Festival, residents at The Garden Of Earthly Delights at Adelaide Fringe and Bellingen Global Music to mention a few.
Hope to craft a new blend for Monk in the Storm, which will be available at The Yoga Bowl , South Coast NSW
