Last Friday we held a staff in-service education and had the pleasure of learning from Jen Dugard from .

Jen shared the latest information on pelvic floor health, returning to exercise after pregnancy, and how to better support women of all ages with their pelvic health. It was an incredibly valuable session for our team, and we’re already beginning to implement what we learned to better support you in the studio.

Thank you, Jen, for sharing your knowledge with us!

Lately I’ve been reading a lot of the research and compiling the latest research on bone density and strength training. I’m always interested in the physical effects of exercise, but the mental side of it is just as important—if not more.

It’s amazing how one workout, walk, yoga class, or pilates session can change how you feel almost immediately. That shift doesn’t just stay in the workout but has a carryover effect. It often flows into the rest of your day and affects how you show up as a partner, parent, employee, boss, or friend.

When you’re planning out your week, I hope you remember to schedule not only the things you have to or should do, but also the things that make you feel good. Moving your body, taking a class, going for a walk—those little things can completely change how you feel, and that can change everything.

Have a wonderful week 💕

Jase and I arrived home yesterday from Bali. He was there completing his 500-hour yoga teacher training, and it felt like the perfect moment for me to join him.

For the first time ever, we travelled to Bali without the intention to surf. As much as we both love it, we consciously chose to set distractions aside and dedicate this trip to reflection and planning around our vision for the studio in the year ahead.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost four years since we opened Rhythm. In that time, we’ve experienced growth, challenges, pivots, and countless lessons. While many of these lessons were hard they shaped the foundation we stand on today.

During this trip, we found more clarity for Rhythm going forward. Since the very beginning, our mission has been to create a welcoming and nurturing space that empowers you to reach your health and wellness goals. That will never change.

What has changed is the depth of our intention. We’re stepping into this next chapter with greater alignment, stronger leadership, and a renewed commitment to ensuring every detail of the studio reflects our values and brings our mission fully to life.

We’re so excited for May this year, when we’ll be introducing even more offerings — all thoughtfully designed to support you in new and meaningful ways.

The next chapter feels aligned and intentional — and we can’t wait to share it with you. 💕

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! ☔️

Mine was filled with Pilates, catching up with a friend, and some exciting studio planning. Today I spent time at the studio doing a test run of our new Circuit and Fusion classes, which begin this week—and I can’t wait for you to experience them.

Each 6-week block is intentionally designed with exercises that challenge your muscles, apply exercise science principles, and create a balanced program that targets all the major muscle groups. I develop these programs alongside Lauren and our instructors to give you the most effective workout possible—helping you build a body that feels strong, capable, and resilient.

You’re always welcome to drop into classes at any time. But if you’ve been thinking about committing to see just how strong you can feel in six weeks, this is the perfect time to join us.

See you soon!

Have you been searching for a studio that truly feels like home?

A movement practice that helps you feel stronger, more stable, and more grounded — both physically and mentally?

A one-stop space that supports all of your wellness needs?

If you answered yes, look no further.

Here are 4 reasons to move with us:

~ Community First

We are deeply community-focused and value the relationships formed through the shared desire to grow, improve, and become healthier together.

~ Expert, Passionate Instructors

Now, more than ever, it’s easier to become an instructor through short courses and online trainings. While training has become more accessible, it has also led to a decline in the overall quality of yoga and Pilates instruction.

Our instructors have undergone extensive training — hundreds to thousands of hours — continue to invest in ongoing professional development, and are genuinely passionate about teaching, guiding, and supporting you at every stage of your journey.

~ Beautiful, Tranquil Spaces

Our yoga and Pilates studios are spacious, clean, and calming. We take pride in creating a friendly, welcoming environment where everyone feels at ease.

~ All Your Wellness, Under One Roof

Enjoy a truly holistic studio experience with yoga, Pilates, strength training, and therapeutic offerings — all in one place.

Did you know research shows that around 80% of people give up on their New Year’s goals by February?
Often this isn’t because we “lack motivation,” but because we set goals that are way too ambitious when we’re motivated from the New Year energy.

We’re excited, inspired, and hopeful… and then real life shows up with its busyness, stress, and competing priorities.

If you’ve already given up on your goals, now is actually a perfect time to reassess — not a failure.

Ask yourself:

Is there something you want to do this year, or a way you want to feel?

What’s one small step you could take regularly that moves you in that direction?

Rather than attempting a complete habit overhaul, small, consistent changes are far more sustainable in the long term.

Case in point — I set a goal to post daily. I failed massively within the first few weeks of January. Anyone who looked at my posting habits from last year could have predicted that… but I was feeling ambitious.

So here’s the reset:

New goal — I’m going to show up here regularly (2–3 times a week) and prioritise sharing educational content. It’s clearer, more specific, and actually realistic.

Progress over perfection.

Have a wonderful night ✨

Normally I don’t jump on Instagram trends, but 2016 will always be one of my favourite years ✨

I graduated with my Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2013 and went straight into private practice. I put a lot of pressure on myself — constant education, workingout, running, surfing most days. Everything felt “on track”… until it didn’t.

Around 2014–2015 my skin started breaking out, then came exhaustion, and irrational anxiety. I began saving to move back home to sit my registration exams, thinking maybe I needed to be closer to my parents because I felt like I was going insane.

Thankfully, I found an incredible functional health doctor (a story for another time). With guidance, lifestyle changes and support, I slowly began to feel like myself again.

Since I’d already been saving, I decided to do something different in 2016 — I chose adventure instead. I completed my yoga teacher training, did a freediving course, tried white water kayaking (definitely not for me 😅), Jase taught me to lead climb, I taught him to kite in Sri Lanka, spent a month training Muay Thai in northern Thailand, lots of surfing, and met some amazing people.

The year began in Hawaii visiting friends. Jase and I had only been dating two months when he came to visit and I got to show him around. I then spent time at home in California with my family — surfing, practicing yoga and Pilates, and slowing down.

The rest of the year was spent across Asia — surf trips with my dad and girlfriends, a Thailand adventure with my mum & bestie, and months exploring Indo, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines with Jase. Between trips, I’d fly back to Bali to teach anatomy in yoga trainings.

From the outside, it probably looked like a perfect year. But the photos don’t show recurring ear infections, food poisoning, a dog bite, or returning home with parasites.

Still, the good memories outweigh the bad ones.

2016 reminded me what inspired me. It showed me that while traditional physio was draining, my passion for the body, movement and learning was still very much alive — I just wanted to work in a different way when I returned home. 💕
