Capital Chemist Curtin We are the local pharmacy at Curtin shops. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 8:30am to 4:00pm

Capital Chemist Curtin is a service based community pharmacy. Our vision is to have trained staff with professional knowledge and skills to provide optimal health care and advice to the community. We are one of few pharmacies in Canberra who supply IVF medicines. All our pharmacists are trained to provide optimal advice on the use and administration of these medicines. Specialist testing has become part of our everyday services. We are able to test lipid profile, HbA1c, iron levels in addition to regular blood pressure, glucose. We have a compounding lab which allows us to prepare medicines which aren't commercially available. Vaccinations, leave certificates, opioid substitution, wound care, Impromy and ear piercing are other services.

Over the weekend the Capital Chemist Curtin team enjoyed a day of mini golf, sliders and pizza and fun competition at Holey Moley! This was to say farewell to some staff members and welcome many new staff who have joined us!

This week is National Pain Week, from the 21st-27th July 2025. More than 3.6 million Australians live with chronic pain right now and as pharmacists, it is important that we help to educate and support patients to ensure that their pain is managed safely and effectively.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, Pain Australia and Monash University have teamed up to release an Opioid Safety Toolkit to help patients taking opioid medications for their pain to create an individualised Safety Plan.

This safety plan can help patients to recognise the signs of opioid side effects and have strong procedures in place if an emergency situation arises. Our pharmacists are here to help you learn more about these resources, to ensure that you can manage your pain safely!
