St Vincent’s Hospital has been an essential part of Sydney for over 160 years, known for its excellence, innovation, deep care, kindness, and respect.
And the work of the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation, made possible by the extraordinary generosity and commitment of philanthropic donors, ensures that the care delivered by St Vincent’s Hospital remains truly transformative.
The Governor-General joined the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation for their Annual Spring Reception, celebrating their dedication to supporting St Vincent’s excellence around Australia for over 40 years.
She reflected on her own experiences at St Vincent’s in Sydney — as a patient, a visitor, and as Governor-General, witnessing firsthand the work of teams including those at NELUNE Men’s Health Centre, Homeless Health Outreach, and Aboriginal Health services.
In thanking the generous philanthropists involved in St Vincent’s Curran Foundation, the Governor-General reflected on the vital role of care, kindness and respect, describing philanthropy as “care in action.”
Throughout the evening, all were reminded of the profound foundational role of the Sisters of Charity and the vital role of St Vincent’s doctors, nurses, researchers and staff.
Our gratitude to all involved in the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation for what you make possible at St Vincent’s.
A special thank you to:
