For decades, Indradyumna Swami has been constantly traveling, sharing kirtan and bhakti wherever he goes, whether it be for crowds of thousands or in a small village in a remote corner of the planet. He will be sharing insights from his life of devotion and wisdom from the ancient Vedic texts.

The cost of the event is $25 and an additional $25 if dining in Govindas Restaurant before or after the program. The restaurant opens for dining from 5:15pm and closes at 10pm.

Friday 9 January at 8:50pm - Hare Krishna: The Mantra, the Movement & the Swami who started it all.
A special event with a live Q&A with the films director, Yadubara Das who is visiting Australia from his home in the USA. The film is an award winning documentary (Best Picture The Illuminate Film Festival) on the life and times of Srila Prabhupada, a 70-year-old Indian Swami who arrives in America in 1965 from India without support or money and ignites a worldwide spiritual revolution based on the ancient Yoga and meditation texts of India known as the Vedas.

Sacred happenings at Govindas this month including a Free Special Event on January 9 with American film maker Yadubara Das as he presents a collection of his early films with live commentary and Q&A. This 2 hour presentation will also be followed by an optional screening of his latest award winning film, "The mantra, the movement & the swami who started it all" for those that haven’t seen it or would like to see it again.

Mantra meditation Workshop at Govindas Lotus Room.
This Sunday, 7 December 11:00am - 1:00pm
In this workshop you will be taught how to meditate in the privacy of your home by the soft chanting of mantras (Divine sound vibrations) on sacred meditation beads. This is a very powerful form of meditation which relieves us of worry, stress & anxiety & helps us to achieve a deep sense of inner peace & tranquility. Your own personal meditation beads are provided for you to keep.

Bada Haridas will be holding an exclusive Sydney kirtan concert at Govindas next Friday the 26th September as a part of his Australian concert tour.
Famous for his inspiring and soulful chants, American born Bada Haridas has studied and performed devotional music and Kirtan since 1975 traveling the world sharing his beautiful, melodious kirtans to audiences around the globe.

In the ancient ruins of Oxyrhynchus, Egypt, archaeologists unearthed a papyrus scrap containing the earliest known Christian hymn, complete with both its lyrics and musical notation. Analyzed at Oxford University, this discovery challenges traditional views of church history by revealing the rich musical practices of early believers. Hosted by Australian historian John Dickson, the feature length documentary The First Hymn chronicles the hymns journey from its desert origins to its modern resurrection, as acclaimed composers Chris Tomlin and Ben Fielding transform the ancient melody into a contemporary worship piece, culminating in a live concert performance.
