Can I be honest with you for a second?

I didn't wake up one day and decide menopause coaching sounded like a nice little business. This one's personal.

My mum went through early menopause without support. My dad faced andropause through prostate cancer alone. The gaps in care for both of them changed my life and not in a good way.

So when I chose my training, I chose properly. I chose Women of a Certain Stage

18 weeks. Live sessions. Real practice clients. CPD-certified. On top of an Australian (AQF) Diploma in Counselling, IECL leadership coaching qualifications, and 26 years in HR watching what happens to people when they're not supported through the big stuff.

I also won a diversity award in 2020 for designing the first childcare subsidy in the resources industry, because when I see a gap, I build something to fill it.

That's what Empower the Pause is.

Not a quick fix. Not a PDF. Just real, qualified, been-through-it support for women AND men navigating this season of life.

Not every certification is equal.

I wasn't interested in a "become a menopause coach in a weekend" programme. Women navigating this transition and men suffering Andropause deserve better than that and frankly, so does the subject matter.

Three weeks into my Menopause Coaching Diploma with Women of a Certain Stage, led by Lauren Chiren and I can already tell the difference between learning about something and learning to genuinely do something.

Lauren's work has influenced global workplace standards, and major organisations worldwide. That's the calibre of this programme and the standard I'm holding myself to.

Is your “love and bonding” signal currently stuck on buffering? 🛰️💔

If your oxytocin (the cuddle hormone) has ghosted you, your cortisol levels are running amuck and high stress is likely to be hogging your internal Wi-Fi.

If you’re feeling more "get the f*ck away from me" than "let's get it on," these two Ayurvedic legends are often suggested to help get the vibes back on track:

🌿 Ashwagandha: Think of it as the ultimate "mute" button for stress. By helping to lower cortisol, it clears the way for your feel-good hormones to actually show up to the party. 🤫

🌸 Hathawariya (Shatavari): The ultimate nurturer. It’s traditionally used to help your nervous system move from "freak out" to "chill out’. This is the exact headspace where oxytocin needs to thrive. 🧘‍♀️

The "Get Your Vibes Back" Game Plan:

✨ Consistency: These aren't an instant fix; they’re a slow-burn support system.

✨ The Physical Hack: Pair them with a 20-second hug. Humans are great, but hugging your dog, cat, or even your gerbil counts too! 🐹🐕 (Seriously, the oxytocin doesn't care who wears the fur).

These are just wellness suggestions! Bodies are weird and wonderful, so please chat with your doctor before trying ne herbs especially if you're pregnant or have thyroid tweaks.

“She” was lucky to leave…. Think about how many people suffering menopause, perimenopause or illnesses such as prostrate cancer, where hormones are depleted. Sufferers experience symptoms that impact how they perform at work; how they deliver, how they interact.

Many won’t get chance to leave… they will be performance managed out, at best, side lined and/or excluded.

Would employers do that to a person with any other well known medical/physical conditions though?

And don’t even get me started on the collection of skincare promising glow, youth and miracles ✨

But when it comes to our actual body and mind?

The one thing we live in every single day…

We hesitate.
We delay.
We push through.

Make it make sense 🤔

Your body will outlast the handbag.
Outlast the shoes.
Outlast the latest serum.

So what if…
we invested in that with the same energy?

💭 More support
💭 More understanding
💭 More care for what’s happening on the inside

Because looking good is one thing…
but feeling like yourself again?

“I genuinely thought something was wrong with me…”

I couldn’t remember words.
Walked into rooms and forgot why.
Lost my train of thought mid-sentence.
Thingy, whatsitcalled, yoke and you know the THING became part of my daily vocabulary.

And yes… I did wonder:
“Is this early dementia?”

Turns out this is a conversation MANY women (and men with medical hormone related conditions) are having quietly in their own heads.

But here’s what we’re not told enough:

👉 Brain fog, forgetfulness, and feeling “not quite yourself”
can be part of perimenopause.

Not a personal failing.
Not you “losing it”.

Your hormones are shifting.
Your brain is adapting.

And you are absolutely not alone in this 💛

(Also… if you’ve put cheese in the pantry recently, we need to talk 😅)
