We acknowledge the recent changes announced by the NDIS and understand that updates like these can create uncertainty.

Please be assured that we are closely monitoring all information as it becomes available.

Our priority remains the same - keeping our participants informed, supported, and strongly advocated for every step of the way. πŸ’›

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is one of Australia’s most important social programs. The NDIS needs to be protected for people with permanent and significant disability and for future generations who will rely on it.

πŸ’™ A Heartfelt Farewell to Kerrie πŸ’™

Today marks the end of an era in our Darwin office as we say goodbye to Kerrie, who is retiring after being a valued member of our team since 2022.

To the participants Kerrie has supported: she's been there for you with unwavering dedication and care.

To our Darwin team: she's been a reliable colleague and friend.

To Kerrie: thank you for the laughter, the compassion, the hard work, and the countless moments where you went above and beyond.

Retirement is a time to celebrate all you've achieved and to enjoy the freedom to do whatever brings you joy. You've earned every bit of it!

We'll miss you, Kerrie, but we're so excited for this new adventure ahead of you. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

Please join us in wishing Kerrie all the best! Drop your messages below! πŸ‘‡

Person-centred support starts with one question: Whose choice is this?

This week's Metanoia Rays Morning Code: VOICE = Value – Offer choice – Inform – Check – Empower

Real choice means:
βœ… Participants decide, not us
βœ… Options are genuine, not guided
βœ… Information is honest and balanced
βœ… Their decision becomes the plan

We create a new Morning Code each week internally – VOICE reminds us who should be leading every decision.

🧑 Harmony Day Celebrations 🧑
At the end of last month our team celebrated Harmony Day with traditional attire and a multicultural feast!

Here are three of our wonderful team members showing off their beautiful traditional dress. Staff shared food from various countries, stories about their heritage, and celebrated the cultural diversity that makes Metanoia Rays special.

Everyone belongs. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

At Metanoia Rays, we create a new Morning Code each week to strengthen our team's skills in communication, safety, and person-centred support.

This week, we're sharing one publicly that we think could help everyone: CALM.

CALM = Confirm – Acknowledge – Look into it – Move forward

When someone comes to you with a complaint or concern, resist the urge to defend yourself immediately. Instead:

βœ… Confirm you've heard them
βœ… Acknowledge the impact
βœ… Explain you'll look into it
βœ… Give a clear next step

Whether you're a support worker, family member, carer, or anyone who receives difficult conversations – this one's for you. πŸ’™
