🚨 The 3 biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to eat healthier as a Dietitian 👇
⭐️ Overcomplicating the process
Nutrition doesn’t need to involve tracking every gram, cutting out entire food groups, or following rigid rules. The basics matter most: eating regularly, getting enough protein and fibre, and balancing meals. Simple habits done consistently beat complicated plans that don’t last.
⭐️ Aiming for perfection only
Waiting for the “perfect” day or expecting 100% compliance often leads to guilt and giving up. Health outcomes improve with consistency, not perfection. An 80% approach over time is far more effective (and realistic) than all or nothing thinking.
⭐️ Trying to change everything at once
Overhauling your entire diet, routine, and lifestyle in one go overwhelms your brain and your nervous system. Behaviour change works best when it’s gradual, focussing on a few habits at a time and allowing them to actually stick long term.
✨ Sustainable nutrition is simple, flexible, and built over time — not rushed, restricted, or perfect.
