Injury prevention isn’t just about stretching before a run and hoping for the best.

It’s about understanding how your body moves, what it needs, and where it might be compensating without you even realising 🏃‍♂️

For runners and athletes, the most common issues we see aren’t from one big moment, but from repeated load over time. Small imbalances in strength, mobility, or control can build up and eventually lead to pain or injury. Things like reduced hip stability, poor calf capacity, or inefficient running mechanics can all play a role.

The good news is that most of this is preventable ✅

A well-rounded approach that includes strength training, proper load management, and movement assessment can make a huge difference. It’s not about changing everything overnight, it’s about making the right adjustments for your body and your goals 🎯

If you’re starting to notice niggles, or you just want to stay ahead of injuries, getting assessed early can save you a lot of time on the sidelines ⏳

Your ankles do a lot more work than we often realise 💡

Every step, jump, change of direction, or run places load through this small but complex joint. When an ankle injury occurs, especially a sprain, the ligaments that stabilise the joint can become stretched or irritated.

Different taping techniques are used depending on the injury and the goal. After a lateral ankle sprain, for example, tape is often applied to limit excessive inversion, which is the movement that commonly causes the injury.

Taping can help you feel more confident when returning to sport or daily activities, but it works best alongside proper rehabilitation.

Your first physio appointment doesn’t have to feel intimidating. Knowing what to expect can make the whole process a lot easier ⭐️

When you come in, we start by chatting about what’s been going on. That might include your injury, pain, training, work habits, or anything else that could be contributing. From there we run through a physical assessment to see how your body is moving, what’s strong, what’s tight, and what might need attention.

Once we understand the bigger picture, we’ll explain what we’ve found and what the plan looks like moving forward. That could include hands-on treatment, specific exercises, and simple strategies to help you feel and move better day to day.

Our goal isn’t just to treat the problem. It’s to help you understand your body and get you back to doing what you enjoy with confidence 💙

Rolled your ankle and thinking, “She’ll be right?” 👀

Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries we see, but they’re also one of the most rushed through when it comes to rehab. The swelling goes down, you can walk again… and that’s where most people stop.

The problem? If you don’t fully restore strength, balance and control, your ankle stays vulnerable. That’s when repeat sprains, ongoing stiffness, or even knee and hip issues start creeping in.

Good rehab is progressive and specific. It should challenge you, not just “move” the ankle around.

If you’ve had an ankle sprain recently (or you keep re-spraining the same one), this is your sign to take it seriously and do it properly this time. Your future self will thank you.

If you’re not sure where to start, book in with our physio team and let’s get you back to moving with confidence ⭐️

Ever wondered what’s actually going on with your strength? 📊

Our Biomechanics Assessment gives you real numbers, not guesses. We measure strength across almost every major muscle group, compare left to right, and highlight imbalances that could be slowing you down or setting you up for injury.

Whether you’re returning from injury, training for performance, or just want to feel stronger and more in control in the gym, this gives you clarity. You’ll know exactly what needs work and how to move forward 💪

If you’re ready to train smarter, book your Biomechanics Assessment with us today.

You see it all the time in sport. Athletes bent over, hands resting on their head, trying to catch their breath. But is it actually the best position for recovery? 🧐

When you lift your arms overhead, you change the position of your ribcage and shoulder girdle. For some people, this can increase tension through the upper traps and neck and may limit how effectively the diaphragm contributes to breathing.

Efficient recovery is not just about getting air in. It is about how well your breathing mechanics support oxygen exchange and nervous system regulation.

In many cases, a slightly forward-leaning position with hands supported on the knees can allow the diaphragm to function more effectively 💡

Recovery is more than just breathing. It involves biomechanics, positioning and understanding how your body responds under load.
