Last week we celebrated something pretty special 💐

Annie turned 70, and we couldn’t let the moment pass without sharing just how inspiring she is. Strong, committed, and always showing up for herself, Annie is proof that strength has no age limit.

Watching her move with confidence, control, and purpose reminds us why pilates is about so much more than exercise. It’s about longevity, independence, and feeling good in your body at every stage of life.

Waking up stiff, sore or already feeling tight through your back isn’t something you should just “get used to”. The surface you sleep on plays a bigger role than most people realise.

A mattress that’s too soft can let your spine sink out of alignment, while one that’s too firm may create pressure through your hips and lower back. Over time, this can contribute to ongoing back pain, poor sleep quality and slower recovery.

If your pain feels worse in the mornings, improves once you’re moving, or has slowly crept in without an obvious injury, your mattress could be part of the problem.

Do your knees crack, pop or crunch? 🦵💥

Those clicks, pops or crackles you hear when you squat, walk upstairs or stand up are often called crepitus.

In many cases, it is completely normal and simply caused by gas bubbles in the joint, tendons moving over bone, or normal joint surfaces gliding.

However, if creaky knees come with pain, swelling, stiffness or reduced confidence in movement, it can be a sign that something needs attention.

This is where physiotherapy plays an important role. A thorough assessment looks beyond the noise itself and focuses on how your knee moves, how strong the surrounding muscles are, and how your body manages load during daily life and exercise🚶‍♀️⚠️
