We’re excited to be collaborating with Occupational Therapy students from Charles Darwin University on a special project at Landing Spot.

The project aims to hear directly from young people aged 13–17 years about their experiences in social situations. Your insights will help us shape a social cognition program in the future — created for teens, by teens.

✨ Transforming lives through Occupational Therapy

One of our amazing OTs worked with an individual who had experience the loss of his limbs due to sepsis. Just a few weeks post-surgery, they fitted him with a cuff to help him regain crucial skills like feeding himself, using a stylus to control his hospital bed, and accessing his phone.

After a lot of hard work and practice, he became independent in these tasks. In a touching moment, he was able to call his wife independently for the first time since his amputations 💖

He’s now in rehab, working towards walking with prosthetics!

🎉 Celebrating 80 Years of Connection: Occupational Therapy Week (Oct 21-27) 🎉

This week, we’re joining the celebration of 80 years of connection in occupational therapy! To mark the occasion, we asked our amazing OT Team Lead, Khalsom, to share what makes her most proud to be part of this incredible profession:

💬 "What makes me most proud about being an occupational therapist is the opportunity to contribute to occupational justice. Occupational therapy isn’t just about helping people regain independence—it’s about ensuring everyone, no matter their background or circumstances, has access to meaningful activities that promote health and well-being.

Access to therapy is crucial. I’m proud to provide OT services via telepractice and telepresence at Landing Spot, allowing us to support people no matter where they live. Helping someone engage in activities that matter most to them is incredibly fulfilling. It reinforces my belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to fully participate in life, and that’s something I’m deeply passionate about."

We’re so proud of our OTs and the amazing difference they make every day. Here’s to 80 years of meaningful connections and to many more ahead! 💙 # NDISCommunity
