Last Friday, Jabiru closed its doors after 38 years of providing amazing care and support to the bubs and parents of the Top End.

We held a lovely, yet emotional lunch for staff and special visitors to reminisce on almost 4 decades of incredible memories.

Thank you to everyone who attended and also thanks to Susan from Little Cherub Photography for the amazing photos.

We’ve made the sad and difficult announcement of our intention to close our maternity services here at Darwin Private Hospital from 17 April 2025.

At this stage, we will be accepting our last maternity admission on 10 April. We will be working closely with patients who are due to give birth on or after this date, their treating obstetrician and NT Health to explore alternate maternity care options.

This has been a very hard decision, and one we know impacts on our community.

We will be working closely with our staff, patients and obstetricians to ensure they feel supported during this time.
