Aimed at developing and maintaining joint mobility and bone strength. As research has indicated that loading the muscles and joints maintains bone health and reduces the risk of falls and injuries.

OSTEOPOROSIS & OSTEPENIA

What is it? & How can physiotherapy help?

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes the bones to weaken. This results in the bones breaking more easily! ⟶ this could be from:
A minor fall
A sneeze
A bump or
A sudden movement
Fractures caused by osteoporosis can be life-threatening and a cause of major pain or life-time disability.

MANAGEMENT
Physiotherapy forms an important component of the management of osteoporosis and osteopenia. Strategies may include:
💪A physical activity or exercise program that safely loads the bones to help keep them strong.
💪Exercises to optimise your posture or address postural changes.
💪Balance training to minimise your risk of falls.
💪Other strategies to manage pain associated with fractures.
💪Education about bone health and self-management strategies.
💪Assisting in rehabilitation after a fracture is sustained.

Physio Spotlight: Kathryn 🌟

Kathryn headed off on another exciting trip with to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

Supporting the Australian Women’s U19’s side through a tough sub-continent tour. The young side took part in a six-game bilateral series against the Sri Lanka Women’s U19 side.

A great experience for all involved!

We can’t wait to have Kathryn back to hear all about 🏏

Clinic afternoon out 🧗‍♀️

A week or so back, a few of our crew headed over to !
A fun afternoon of testing our strength and fear of heights!

An absolute blast was had! From challenging ourselves on the bouldering walls to testing our height limit! Even our littlest crew had a killer time tackling the autobelay climbing wall 🧗‍♀️

There was something for everyone and we highly recommend heading down if you haven’t already.

Physio Spotlight: Ben 🌟

go back-to-back-to-back 🏆

Ben has been working with the Darwin Salties team this season as team physio! Over the weekend Salties travelled away for the finals series in the WBA.

Heads in the game from the get go, the team took out the championship to retain the title.

A massive effort and unforgettable experience for all involved throughout the season.

A massive shout out to Ben who kept the team in tip top shape, helping with all the niggles and injuries.

Top End Series 2025 🏏

Another cracker tournament for cricket in the NT wrapped up last weekend!

11 days of top level T20 Cricket was played. With TSM Physios Kathryn, Ben and Sam covering matches for NT Strike and Chicago Kingsmen.

We also supplied all medical coverage for each match - which created opportunities for many doctors outside of our clinic!

Thank you for allowing us to be apart of such an amazing event! We love supporting sport in the NT, especially this event and the opportunities it creates for our wider community.

Donny was busy making sure the girls were match ready each day! As well as bringing the vibes......
