Our TeamHEALTH staff were proud to join colleagues from across Katherine for the 2026 Dual Diagnosis Training. Strengthening our skills to better support people experiencing co-occurring alcohol and other drug use and mental health challenges.

A valuable day of culturally safe, trauma-informed learning, practical tools and shared knowledge to support our community.

Today is National Apology Day.
A day to remember the National Apology delivered in 2008, and to reflect on the harm caused by past laws and policies, particularly to the Stolen Generations.

It is also a day to recognise the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to remind ourselves that reconciliation is ongoing work.

At TeamHEALTH, we are committed to reconciliation that goes beyond words, grounded in listening, learning, cultural safety and action in our everyday work.

🌿 Building understanding. Sharing stories. Creating connection. 🌿
As part of our Two Ways Mentoring Program, we’re currently delivering an 8-week workshop series, Understanding Workplace Culture, in partnership with Melaleuca Australia, supporting people as they resettle in Australia.

This week’s session focused on cultural awareness, literacy and responsiveness, facilitated by our First Nations Lead, Nancy Doolah. Through an activity called the Reconciliation Tree, Nancy shared the history of the Australian First Nations movement and the importance of reconciliation.

The participants, who are from South America, engaged deeply in the conversation. The session was interpreted into Spanish by Two Ways Coordinator, Astrid Garcia, ensuring stories, context and meaning were accessible to everyone.

With a strong mental health and wellbeing lens, this 8-week course is about more than workplace culture, it’s about belonging, understanding, and connection 🌱

Our Housing and Support at Home teams are now operating from our new temporary Nightcliff office and the space is already buzzing with unpacking, planning and collaboration.

📍 Unit 4, 69 Progress Drive, Nightcliff

From housing and tenancy support to in-home services delivered through the Support at Home program, this office will be a base for practical, community-based work that helps people stay housed, supported and connected across the region.

🎶 Join us for Sing&Grow 🎶

Sing&Grow is a music therapy program for families with children aged from birth to 5 years. The program is facilitated by Sing&Grow Australia and hosted at TeamHEALTH, offering families a welcoming space to connect, learn, and play together through music.

For the next 8 weeks, sessions will be led by a qualified Music Therapist and include singing, movement, and playing simple instruments in a fun and supportive group environment.

💙 Farewell & congratulations, Julia 💙
As we prepare to say goodbye to our Executive Manager, Julia Wormer, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible impact she has had at TeamHEALTH over the past two and a half years.

Julia’s leadership, clinical expertise and deep commitment to quality, culture and community have strengthened and grown services across the organisation. Julia played a pivotal role in building TeamHEALTH’s organisational profile and successfully expanded TeamHEALTH’s reach and impact across the Top End whilst ensuring that services delivered were person-centred, trauma informed, culturally safe and relevant.

From championing lived experience and community voices, to establishing new programs, governance structures and partnerships, her legacy will continue to be felt well into the future.

We’re also thrilled to share that Julia is stepping into an exciting new chapter as CEO of the Aboriginal Resource and Development Service (ARDS), a role that so beautifully reflects her values, relationships and dedication to First Nations communities.

Julia, thank you for your vision, integrity and care. We will miss you greatly, but we’re cheering you on as you take this next step 🤍

TeamHEALTH is a Northern Territory based not for profit and for-purpose organisation that supports people dealing with mental health concerns or mental illness. Our purpose is to create community capacity for good mental health so that all people can lead a full and valued life.

We provide evidence based mental health services, focused on support, recovery and rehabilitation across Darwin, urban and rural regions, Palmerston, Katherine, Daly River, Maningrida and Gunbalanya.
