What an incredible start to Jabiru Family Circle! πŸŽ‰πŸ’›

Our very first session welcomed 11 families, 31 people in total, including families from Kakadu and surrounds, and families who have been impacted by recent flooding. Seeing so many people come through the doors and connect with one another was truly special.

Every child in attendance also received a free children's book, generously provided by the The Indigenous Literacy Foundation.πŸ“š

Jabiru Family Circle is a free weekly program running every Tuesday, 10:00am–12:00pm at Marrawuddi Arts & Culture, delivered in partnership with Playgroup NT and Families as First Teachers (FaFT). It's a space for children aged 0–5 to play, learn, and make friends, and for parents and carers to connect and support one another.

We still have 7 weeks to go and would love to see more families join us. Come along! it's free, it's welcoming, and there's even a free drink from the cafΓ© for parents! β˜•

This week, our Child and Family team had the privilege of attending the NT Youth Conference, and what a fantastic experience it was! 🌟

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with other organisations who share our passion for supporting young people and families across the NT. Being in the same room as so many dedicated professionals is always a reminder of just how much heart goes into this work.

We're already reflecting on the conversations had and the connections made. Here's to continuing to grow, collaborate, and show up for the young people in our communities. πŸ’›

There are some exciting changes happening at TeamHEALTH!

We are pleased to share the expansion of Kylie Ella's role as Deputy CEO. Kylie is a seasoned leader with a deep commitment to mental health service delivery across the Northern Territory, and in this expanded role she will take on additional strategic responsibilities to position TeamHEALTH for the future, including evidence and reporting, policy and advocacy, and partnerships and funding.

We are also pleased to announce a new addition to our Executive Leadership Team. John Kelly has been appointed as Executive Manager, Residential Recovery. Since joining TeamHEALTH in 2017, John has made a significant contribution to our organisation, from Adult Support Outreach to playing a key role in establishing and growing our Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) services. In his new role, John will oversee our Residential Services and help shape the future of residential care at TeamHEALTH, including exciting opportunities for growth ahead.

We are proud to see both Kylie and John step into these expanded responsibilities and look forward to the continued impact of their leadership.
Congratulations, Kylie Ella and John Kelly! πŸŽ‰

Some partnerships just work, and our collaboration with Mind Blank Ltd is one we're incredibly proud of. πŸ’›

Together, we've developed the Resilient Children Mental Health Awareness Early Intervention Program (RC-MHAP). A program close to both our hearts that brings mental health awareness to children aged 8–12 across urban and remote communities.

Through role-play, performing arts, and local storytelling, kids build real skills like emotional regulation, resilience, mindfulness, and the confidence to seek help when they need it. It's community-led, culturally grounded, and designed to meet children where they are.

We're proud of what this program has grown into, and excited to keep doing this important work alongside the Mind Blank team. πŸ™Œ

We love seeing work like this! πŸ™Œ
We're thrilled that TeamHEALTH is part of it. The VET Workforce Research project is doing some really meaningful work to help professionals stay current in a rapidly changing industry, and we can't wait to see where it leads. 🧑

After extensive research and co-design engagements, we have designed a pilot model and accompanying toolkit to support teachers, trainers and assessors to maintain industry currency as part of our VET Workforce Research project. The aim of this work is to facilitate stronger industry and RTO partnerships, and to help professionals remain up to date with rapid industry changes.

The project is part of the of Employment and Workplace Relations’ VET Workforce Blueprint. We are working to identify and respond to VET workforce challenges in aged care and disability services, children’s education and care, health, human (community) services, and sport and recreation. Findings from this work will inform our final report in June 2026.

Three aged care and disability services providers have been paired with four registered training organisations to take part in the 12-week program. They include TeamHEALTH, Breakthru, RMIT University, Brotherhood of St Laurence, Auctus Training Institute, Response Employment and Training and Three Tree Lodge.

You can find more information about this fantastic project on our website:

What happens when health, education, and the arts come together? πŸ’›

At this year's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference, our Child and Family Wellbeing Team shared how the Resilient Children Mental Health Awareness Program (RC-MHAP) is using storytelling, role-play, and performance to help children in remote NT communities understand their emotions, recognise warning signs, and feel confident asking for help.

This is what community-centred, culturally safe mental health care looks like. We're honoured to do this work alongside Mind Blank Ltd and The Smith Family Family. πŸ™Œ
