Lilith – The Moment You Remember You Are the Storm

There is a moment on the path where you stop asking for permission to exist as you are.

Lilith stands in that threshold – hair woven with stars, serpents at her feet, crescent moon above – a living reminder that your power was never meant to be tidy, convenient or easily explained.

This energy rises when:

- You feel the old version of you cracking like a shell
- You can’t go back to pretending you don’t know what you know
- Your body refuses to keep carrying what was never yours

Lilith doesn’t ask you to become someone else.
She asks you to remember the one who has been watching from the edges all along.

Lilith, Drums & Remembering Your Own Voice

When Lilith energy moves through a life, it often arrives as sound before words.

The tremor in your chest when you know something is no longer true for you.
The quiet drumbeat in your belly that says, “It’s time to leave.”
The pulse in your throat when your voice wants to rise, even if it shakes.

In my own work, I often feel Lilith most clearly:

- In the deep, steady heartbeat of the drum
- In the way a circle of women begin to breathe in unison
- In the silence after a journey, when someone finally says, “I can’t go back to how it was”

Lilith is not only an idea or a myth.
She is a frequency that lives in the body – in the bones, the blood, the sound.

Ritual, drum work and plant allies can help us:

- Give that wild, sovereign part of us a safe place to move
- Release old vows of silence and compliance
- Call our power back from the places we abandoned it
- Anchor new boundaries in something deeper than willpower alone

Lilith – She Who Will Not Be Tamed

Lilith does not knock at the door.
She rises in the night sky of your life like a crescent moon over a wild forest, reminding you of everything you were told to bury.

In old stories she was named dangerous, disobedient, unholy.
In the deeper current, she is the untamed feminine:
shadow and starlight, serpent and song, the part of you that refuses to bow where your soul is not honoured.

Lilith energy moves through you when:

- A quiet, unwavering “no” echoes in your bones
- You can no longer contort yourself to be acceptable
- The mask slips, and your true voice steps forward
- You feel the wild, ancient part of you waking from a long sleep

In her sacred expression, Lilith invites you to:

- Call home the exiled parts of your body, heart and magic
- Release shame around desire, intuition and power
- Weave clear boundaries like a protective circle of moonlight
- Stand in your truth, even if your voice trembles at first

You might feel her presence when you:

- Walk away from what drains your life-force
- Speak a truth that rearranges your world
- Choose the path of mystery over the safety of pretending

Lilith is not here to punish.
She is the one who takes your hand and leads you out of cages you forgot you were in.

Oil pulling is one of those simple, ancient practices that looks almost too easy… until you actually feel the difference in your body.

Oil pulling is a traditional Ayurvedic ritual where you gently swish oil (usually organic sesame or coconut) in your mouth for 10–20 minutes, then spit it out. It’s believed to help:

- Support oral detoxification
- Freshen breath naturally
- Reduce the “fuzzy” feeling on teeth and gums
- Create a cleaner, lighter feeling in the mouth and jaw

How to start a gentle oil pulling ritual:

1. First thing in the morning, before food or drink
2. Place 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of organic oil in your mouth
3. Gently swish and move it around (no vigorous gargling)
4. Spit into the bin (not the sink – it can clog pipes)
5. Rinse with warm water and then brush as usual

This is not a replacement for dental care, but a supportive ritual you can weave into your morning as a moment of mindfulness and cleansing.

Cybele is one of the oldest known Mother Goddesses – a wild, mountain-born presence from ancient lands. She is often shown holding a round frame drum, the heartbeat of the Great Mother in her hands.

The drum she carries is more than an instrument. Its circular form mirrors the moon, the seasons and the endless cycles of birth, death and rebirth. Its rhythm calls us back to the body, to the earth, and to the deep remembering that we are not separate from nature, but woven into it.

When we sit with a medicine drum, we are sitting with this lineage of the Great Mother – the women who drummed before temples, in caves, on mountain paths and in quiet rooms, calling in healing, protection and ecstatic connection.

In my drum birthing workshops, each drum is a small altar to this ancient knowing. As you lace the hide, choose the crystals and breathe life into your drum, you are weaving your own thread into this timeless story.
