That annoying pain at the front of your knee?

Could be patellar tendon pain (often called jumper’s knee).

We see this a lot in the clinic in running and jumping sports. The important detail - it’s not always just inflammation. It’s a tendon that’s been asked to do more than it’s prepared for. That’s why we don’t just prescribe rest here at Motus HP.

On our website is a full breakdown of the common causes & what actually works to fix it.

Hip pain in kids isn’t always a simple strain.

In adolescents, the growth plates (apophyses) are weaker than the muscle-tendon unit. During explosive movements like sprinting, kicking and jumping, the tendon can pull a small fragment of bone away from the pelvis. This is called a hip flexor avulsion.

Adding perturbation to core exercises is an important aspect of trunk conditioning.

This trains the muscular system to cope with extrinsic demands in preparation for returning to sport, lifting and the rigors of day to day life!

If your core training hasn’t challenged you beyond neutral, it’s time to get guidance on how to progress.

Injuries are frustrating but a common part of sport. The good news - training doesn’t have to stop completely, it just needs to be adjusted.

Save some of the strategies from our latest blog post on how to use alternative training modalities to continue safe movement, maintain conditioning and stay mentally fit & ‘sane’ while you rehabilitate from injury this sports season.

We’re in the game of making the eventual return to activity, running or sport much smoother once testing reveals that green light to get going again.
