Some Quick Tips On How To Handle Orthodontic Emergencies At Home Over The Holiday Period 👌🏻
Remember to ALWAYS use clean hands and disinfected tools when attempting to temporarily fix any issues yourself.

♦️A broken bracket is NOT an emergency, your braces will still work properly without it until we can fix you a new one.
♦️if a bracket comes loose or breaks, leave it in place and cover it with wax if needed for comfort. If the bracket breaks off entirely, just remove it and leave it alone.
♦️if you have an annoying floating bracket, just slide it along the wire with tweezers so it sits between two teeth or in the centre of the tooth
♦️if your arch wire breaks causing discomfort, you can carefully use a pair of nail clippers to cut off the end so it’s a neat finish
♦️Use wax to cover up any sharp points

If you have a broken bracket please be assured that it is acceptable to use orthodontic wax to cover any uncomfortable parts until we re-open to help you.
If it is something more, contact your own Dentist first for help.
If it is an absolute emergency and your own dentist is unavailable you can contact our general dental colleagues at Oaks Avenue Dental, Dee Why on 9971 9304 who may be able to help you with any discomfort until we are able to see you.
PLEASE NOTE a consultation fee will apply.
