Meet your host!

We're delighted to introduce Katrin Wegener, who will be hosting Pedorthics Integrated: Solutions in every step.

Katrin began her career in Germany in 1994, training as an orthopaedic shoemaker and orthotic specialist, later becoming a state-certified Podiatrist. Since moving to Australia in 2009, she has qualified as an Australian Certified Pedorthist, contributed to national training and certification, and presented at conferences worldwide.

Today, Katrin leads the profession as PAA President and continues her successful clinical practice. We're excited to have her guiding this year's conference!

Blake Withers is many things – sports podiatrist, PhD candidate, University of Newcastle lecturer, business owner, published researcher, and co-host of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘔𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 podcast.

We're pleased to welcome back Markus Kerkering, a rising talent in pedorthics, to the 2025 Pedorthic Conference!

Markus began his pedorthic journey in Germany, earning his Meister degree in 2018 before relocating to Australia in 2020. With international conference presentations and publications in both German and English journals, he brings a global perspective to the profession. Today, Markus is part of the team at foot power in Sydney.

Markus will shine a light on the underestimated potential of heel counters in footwear. He'll demonstrate how they can provide support and stability that, in some cases, may even serve as an alternative to ankle foot orthoses.
