Every movement, every thought, every effort to reconnect, all starts with the brain.

In neuro rehabilitation, we harness the principle that “neurons that fire together, wire together.”

This means that with the right, repetitive, and targeted therapy, the brain can reorganise itself, building new neural pathways to restore movement, function, and independence.

Our team is made up of neuro experts and we apply this science in the work we do every day, through precise, evidence-based interventions.

Because neuroplasticity isn’t just theory, it’s the foundation of recovery.

Recognising the signs of stroke can save a life.

At NeuroRehab, while much of our work focuses on helping survivors of stroke, we’re also passionate about prevention, because quick action can make all the difference.

Remember F.A.S.T:
F – Face: Has one side drooped?
A – Arms: Can they lift both arms?
S – Speech: Is it slurred or strange?
T – Time: If you see any of these signs, call 000 immediately.

Stroke can happen to anyone, at any age, but knowing what to do can change the outcome.

OT Week 2025 | “Occupational Therapists: The Power of Doing”

At NeuroRehab, our OTs help people do the things that matter most - the everyday activities that bring purpose, independence and joy.
From learning to write your name, to styling your own hair, to safely moving around your home and community, these important moments of independence, self-expression, and confidence are often life-changing.

This OT Week, we’re celebrating the incredible work our occupational therapists do every day to help people build skills, confidence, and connection, one achievement at a time.

At NeuroJunior, our Neuropsychology team helps children thrive through:

🧠 Cognitive and learning assessments

In every step, a steady hand,
A carer helps us understand.
Through quiet care and daily grace,
They make the world a softer place.

With patience deep, they walk beside,
A gentle strength they never hide.
Their kindness shines, both calm and true,
As a guiding light, in all they do.

So in this week, we pause to say,
We see the love, in your work each day.
For all the hearts you lift with care,
Our gratitude is always there.

This National Carers Week, we’re honouring the often unsung heroes who give so much of themselves in caring for others. Carers visiting with a loved one are invited to take a moment to pause, unwind, and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea and a poem - a small gesture of appreciation for all that you do.

Happy Allied Health Professionals Day!

Today we celebrate our incredible team of therapists who bring expertise, empathy and creativity to every session.

The theme, Stronger Together, highlights the power of collaboration, something we see daily across our multidisciplinary team. Whether it’s a physiotherapist problem-solving with an occupational therapist and psychologist, a speech pathologist working alongside a dietitian and music therapist, or an exercise physiologist and allied health assistant teaming up to motivate a client, our therapists are united by one goal - supporting people living with neurological conditions to live life their way.

Thank you to our innovative team for the passion, skill and teamwork you bring to the NeuroRehab community every single day.

One team, many skills, stronger together.

Last week our senior physiotherapist presented at the 15th Vienna International Conference on Functional Electrical Stimulation, which also marked the 30th Anniversary of International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society (IFESS ).

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) uses gentle electrical pulses to activate nerves and muscles while performing everyday tasks like grasping, cycling, or walking. FES is most commonly used to support people who have experienced paralysis due to brain or spinal cord injury.

The conference brought together an incredible mix of clinicians, researchers, engineers and academics from around the world, all dedicated to advancing neurological rehabilitation.

We are so proud of Bec for representing NeuroRehab on the international stage, sharing her expertise and bringing back fresh knowledge and ideas to support people living with neurological conditions here in Australia.

Thank you to IFESS for the warm welcome and opportunity to connect with such a global community of innovators.

This Dementia Action Week, we’re reminded that dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with the condition, it also impacts families, friends and entire communities.

Too often, connections fade when people don’t know what to say or how to help. But staying connected makes a world of difference. Nobody can do it alone.

Through cognitive assessments and therapy, our team helps people living with dementia, and those around them to find ways to adapt and stay connected.

We encourage you to reach out to someone impacted by dementia and reconnect, because small gestures can create big change.
