The race that stops the nation!

It called for Champagne (kindly donated from one of our Residents family), delicious Panna Cotta and ginger cake (made by staff with Chef Paulie PaulyMac), Cheese, biscuits, Salami and chocolate. Our own Merton Cup races, which was a laugh.
Great day with great friends, what more could you want?

Oh……of course winning was a bonus!

Everyone that came along today got some great information about the Top Gun equipment and even got to try it out.

What a great day had by all that attended our afternoon of 'Paint anything but a canvas'. Who knew we had so many artistic friends in the community.
Some fantastic cheese platters to keep everyone going and lots of laughter. 😀

🍽Merton Munch Bunch🍽
The munch bunch crew attended their monthly luncheon at the Royal Hotel in Denman today.
We had the pleasure of our Scone, Muswellbrook , Aberdeen and Denman friends all come together for a lovely meal and great company.
A big shout out to the Royal Hotel Denman, our Merton Community bus and driver and our wonderful Merton Living Helpers.
Everyone looks forward to these outings, being able to get out in the community to meet up.

🔎Merton Out and About 🔍
Merton Living Community Bus full, trolleys loaded and ready for Thursdays adventure. 🚌🚌
Off we ventured down the highway to BUNNINGS. Everyone had their own little agenda today. Flowers, potting mix, pool supplies more flowers, you name it we got it. We finished off with a little lunch before heading home.
Thank you to everyone who organised this great day out.

📢 FREE 6-week Community Chair Exercise Program in Merriwa.
2pm -2:45pm Tuesdays, starting Wed 21 Oct 2025 and running for 6 weeks in the Old Merriwa Library.

Chair Exercises are simply exercises done whilst being supported by a chair. We laugh, we move, we breathe and we have a bit of fun as we become fitter, stronger and more capable. A few extra bonuses include reduced pain and improved sleep, mood and mental clarity.

This program is brought to Merriwa thanks to the NSW Government's Connecting Seniors Grant Program, Upper Hunter Shire Council and Upper Hunter Yoga.

🍴Merton Cooking Class🍴
Do you know what we love ? We love WAFFLES ! 😋
This months Merton Cooking Class cooked up a storm in the kitchen, having the opportunity to use little waffle makers to make some sweet and savoury waffles.
We had a sweet potato, maple bacon with maple syrup, poached pears and crème fraiche as our savoury option and a chocolate waffle with mixed berries and ice-cream.
These were all made from scratch! How yummy do they look!
Everyone looks forward to our cooking class and if you are interested in our next one give us a call at the office. We are also open for suggestions as to what is on the menu next. A big thank you to Kelsey and Ruth, great job ladies.
