Feeling tired all the time isn’t something you should ignore.😴

Ongoing fatigue is often put down to being “busy” — but it can sometimes be a sign that something else is going on.

Common causes can include:
• Iron deficiency
• Thyroid imbalances
• Poor sleep quality
• Stress or mental health concerns

A simple check-up and some basic tests can help identify what’s behind it.

If you’ve been feeling run down for a while, it may be worth having a chat with your GP.

Not sure if something is “serious enough” to book an appointment?

You don’t need to wait until things feel urgent to see your GP.

Consider booking an appointment if you’re experiencing:

• Ongoing fatigue that isn’t improving
• Unexplained weight loss
• A persistent cough lasting more than 3 weeks
• Changes in mood, anxiety, or low motivation
• Symptoms that are unusual for you
• Anything that simply doesn’t feel right

Many conditions are easier to treat when identified early. What feels small now can sometimes signal something worth checking.

Your GP is here for more than just acute illness — we’re here for prevention, reassurance and long-term health support.

If you’re unsure, it’s always okay to ask.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women in our community — our patients, our mothers, daughters, friends, and the dedicated women who make up so much of our healthcare team. 💜

Women are often the caregivers, the organisers, the ones making sure everyone else is looked after. But your health matters too.

March is a reminder to prioritise your own wellbeing. When was your last:
✔️ Cervical screening
✔️ Breast check
✔️ Blood pressure check
✔️ Mental health check-in

Preventative care saves lives — and small appointments now can make a big difference later.

Book an appointment with your GP and take time to invest in your health this month.

Because strong women deserve strong healthcare.

Did you know kidney disease can develop without symptoms?

Kidney disease is often called a “silent condition” because many people don’t feel unwell until it is more advanced.

You may be at higher risk if you have:
• Diabetes
• High blood pressure
• A family history of kidney disease
• Heart disease

The good news? Kidney function can be checked with simple blood and urine tests.

If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, regular testing is important — even if you feel completely well. Early detection can prevent long-term complications.

If you’re unsure when your last kidney check was, book an appointment with your GP for a review.

Your health matters — even the parts you can’t see. 💙

Your health needs change as you move through different stages of life — and regular check-ins can make all the difference.

Here’s a simple guide to what to prioritise at each age 👇

💚 In Your 20s
• Mental health check-ins
• Cervical screening (from age 25)
• STI screening if required
• Skin checks
• Blood pressure baseline

💙 In Your 40s
• Blood pressure & cholesterol checks
• Diabetes screening
• Skin checks
• Breast screening discussions
• Bowel cancer screening (from age 45)

💜 Over 60
• Heart health assessments
• Bone density discussions
• Bowel cancer screening
• Vaccinations (flu, shingles, pneumonia)
• Medication reviews

Preventative care isn’t just about treating illness — it’s about staying well.

If you’re unsure what checks are right for you, book in with your GP for a personalised health review.

Your future self will thank you.

February is Heart Health Month ❤️

Your heart works hard for you every day — showing it some care can make a big difference.
Regular check-ups, knowing your numbers (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar), and small lifestyle changes can help reduce your risk of heart disease.

If it’s been a while since your last heart health check, now is a great time to book in with your GP.
