Trista has been practicing intuitive and guided yoga for over 15 years with a 200hr Yoga Alliance Certification in Hatha, Ashtanga and Yin yoga from Arohan Yoga School. She is also a certified Life Coach with Centre of Excellence and uses this knowledge to incorporate mindset mastery and personal growth techniques into her classes while providing a safe and supportive sacred holding space for her clients. On top of that Trista holds a BA in Nutrition and is available to offer advice and education on transitioning to a plant-based, whole-food, toxin-free lifestyle.

🌿 Urgent Update 🌿

I’m so sorry for the late notice, but there will be no Wednesday night class tonight.

Thank you for your understanding — sometimes life asks us to pause and listen, just as we do on the mat 🤍

A little reminder as well that there will be no classes next week while I’m away on the mainland.

We’ll return Tuesday 31st, back to our usual rhythm as we continue to gently explore and support our nervous systems together 🧘‍♀️✨

Your nervous system is constantly checking in with the world, asking:

Because the nervous system always prioritises safety over logic, our reactions often happen before conscious thought 💭

When the body senses safety, we can soften, breathe deeply, connect with others, and feel present in ourselves🥰🫶🤗

When safety feels uncertain, the nervous system shifts into protection — moving us into fight, flight, or shutdown — often without conscious choice.🏃‍♀️🥶🫣

Yoga works directly with the nervous system. Through slow, mindful movement, steady breath, and rest, we offer the body signals of safety and support. Over time, this helps build trust within ourselves and expands our capacity to stay grounded, even when life feels challenging🧘‍♀️

🍂 Safety is the foundation of nervous system health. Without a felt sense of safety, our bodies and minds remain in hypervigilance or shutdown, limiting presence, learning, and healing.

This week we cultivate an awareness of where we feel secure — in our posture, our breath, and our environment🌸

Supporting the body through grounding postures, regulated breath and an awareness of alignment gives a sense of stability that the nervous system can rely on.

Safety is not passive. It is an active engagement with what feels reliable and supportive. We explore cues of safety in the body: the feet pressing into the floor, the spine stacking naturally, and the breath moving easily 🌬😌

When the body senses support, the parasympathetic nervous system can activate, promoting calm, restoration, and a capacity to learn new regulation skills.

✨ TRUSTING THE PROCESS ✨

Strength isn’t always about pushing harder.
Sometimes it’s the quiet patience of showing up, breath by breath, even when the outcome isn’t clear yet 🌥

This week in class, we’re exploring the balance between strength and surrender—the strength of perseverance, and the surrender of trusting timing.

On the mat, that looks like letting your movement follow your breath instead of force… softening expectations… and allowing your body to open at its own pace.

In life, it’s remembering that growth is happening even when you can’t see it.

The seeds you’ve planted are rooting beneath the surface 🌱

Your only job is to stay present, stay gentle, and stay open to the unfolding.

Join me as we practice moving with rhythm rather than urgency, and honour the beautiful in-between space where change is already happening. 🌿🤍

Like a tree, our strength starts at the roots. When life feels uncertain, we can feel unsteady — yet our body always knows how to find solid ground.

This week on the mat, we focus on alignment, breath, and awareness to rediscover stability beneath us. It’s not about perfect shapes — it’s about feeling supported, anchored, and confident in every movement.

Through grounding through your feet, softening the breath, and aligning your body, you can rise taller, move with ease, and notice how steady strength feels in your body and mind.

📢 No Yoga Next Week 📢

Attention all yogis. Please note there won’t be any yoga classes next week as I’m heading over to Perth, WA for a very special reason 🙏

I’m incredibly proud to share that The Lounge – our warm and welcoming space for women walking a journey of mental ill-health – has been nominated for a National Su***de Prevention award. It’s such an honour to see this little community of care and connection recognised on a national level.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support – I know it’s a little soon to be stepping away again, but I promise I’ll be back the following week, ready to roll out the mat and reconnect.
