If you’re heading along to the Sincs & Bilko Show on Saturday, we’ve set up something pretty great to kick the day off.

The Launch Pad | 10am – 4pm

📍 Byard Park, Devonport
📅 Saturday 24 January

The Launch Pad is a free, family-friendly space to hang out before the main show. No pressure, no tickets needed, just a relaxed spot to bring the kids, grab some food, and ease into the day.

There’ll be:

Kids activities and face painting

Entertainment to keep little (and big) people happy

Local stalls and small businesses

Food, treats, and good community vibes

It’s the kind of thing where you can turn up, stay as long as you like, and let the kids burn off some energy before the evening action kicks off.

Australia Day Eve at Devonport RSL

Devonport RSL Sub Branch Inc. brings you a massive Australia Day Eve celebration on Sunday 25 January 🎉

🕚 11am till late
📍 Devonport RSL, 18 Macfie Street

Enjoy a huge day of local live music featuring:

🎶 Tell the Others

The RSL is open from 10am, with live music kicking off at 11am and rolling through till late.
Expect games, a BBQ, cold bevvies, and a great community atmosphere.

The Great Aussie Sandcastle Competition
Held annually on Australia Day at Bluff Beach Devonport, The Great Aussie Sandcastle Competition is back once again and ready for you to get creative in 2026!

Come along to this free, family event and create a sand sculpture of something that is recognisably Australian for your chance to win some prizes, have fun in the sun and enjoy a day with community!

2025 saw almost thirty teams and approximately 110 participants and 2026 looks forward to seeing just as many friendly faces.

COMPETITION DETAILS

Registration open from 10:00am
Building competition commencing 11:00am
Building ending 2:00pm
Prizes awarded 2:30pm
WHAT TO BRING

Picnic or BBQ lunch
Buckets, spades, shovels and tools
Sunscreen, sun hat and sunglasses
Water bottle and your creativity!

While this is a free event, there will be an area set up with an online link for any donations you would like to give towards the Make A Wish Foundation.

Diamonds of Devonport 2026 – Call for Nominations
Devonport City Council will once again celebrate International Women’s Day by recognising outstanding local women through the Diamonds of Devonport Awards.
Since the program began in 2012, more than 390 women who live or work in our community have been honoured for their achievements and contributions.
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Diamonds of Devonport Awards in the following categories:
• Personal or Community Achievement
• Entrepreneurial Achievement
• Young Achiever (under 30 years)
Nominees must live or work within the Devonport Local Government Area and have made a significant contribution over time that enhances the Devonport community.
Nominees may include:
• Long-term volunteers of community, sporting, or community service organisations
• Individuals who have overcome personal challenges to positively impact others
• Successful entrepreneurs or self-employed business owners based in Devonport
Please note: Previous Diamond recipients are not eligible to receive a second Diamond unless the nomination is in a different category and reflects a significant contribution within that category.
