On Sunday, 29/03, MZH hosted a special event to announce the Rabbi Dr Shalom Coleman CBE AM fund and share redevelopment plans. Over 100 attendees enjoyed music by Effi Ram and the Sounds of Israel, plus delicious food and drinks from Yoffi’s Catering.
Board Chair Jeremy Jacobs highlighted Maurice Zeffert’s achievements and emphasised MZH’s vision to offer a welcoming home where residents feel safe and valued. He discussed challenges in aged care, launched a stakeholder engagement plan, and invited feedback via survey to guide future improvements for the Jewish community over the next 20–30 years.
Jeremy thanked generous donors, noting two major bequests that enabled the endowment fund, which will secure MZH’s future. Donors will be honoured in due course.
Rabbi Dan Lieberman shared memories of Rabbi Coleman, recalling his warmth, encouragement, and tradition of offering a Bracha. The event concluded with a surprise performance by singing waiters, and CEO Philippa reassured everyone that MZH’s history and ethos will be preserved and strengthened through new developments. Attendees left inspired and eager to share the survey with family and friends.
