Over 1 million Australians live with low vision or vision impairment ποΈ
With the right supports in place β including NDIS-funded assistive technology, orientation and mobility training, and community advocacy β people with low vision can access tools that support independence, confidence, and choice. This might include screen readers, braille devices, magnification tools, or guide dogs.
February is Low Vision Awareness Month, a time to acknowledge the everyday experiences of people with vision impairment and the practical supports that help remove barriers. Accessible design, thoughtful adjustments, and inclusive systems all play a role β and often, itβs the small changes that make the biggest difference.
β¬οΈ Feel free to tag an organisation, advocate, or individual who is contributing to a more accessible and inclusive community.
